DEVICE FOR WELDING PLASTIC FILMS BY MEANS OF HOT GAS
The invention relates to a device for the preferably continuous welding of plastic films by means of hot gas with at least one tubular body through which an electric current flows for the heating of the hot gas, wherein the device comprises at least one gas inlet opening (6, 106) and a plurality of gas outlet openings (12, 112) arranged next to each other, from which hot gas is blown onto the plastic film. It is provided that the at least one gas inlet opening (6, 106) is provided on a main tubular body (4, 104), which stands in gas communication with a plurality of branch tubular bodies (8, 108) at branching points (10, 110), wherein the branch tubular bodies (8, 108) each have at least one gas outlet opening (12, 112) and all the branch tubular bodies (8, 108) have electric current flowing through them.
Installation assembly and associated method for forming a bonded joint
An installation assembly and an associated method for forming a bonded join are provided to permit the adhesive attachment of a first workpiece, such as a patch, to a portion of a second workpiece. The installation assembly and the associated method provide for at least partial debulking of the adhesive prior to curing of the adhesive such that the resulting bondline may have improved mechanical properties as a result of having fewer voids and/or porosity. The installation assembly may include an installation stand and a carrier plate supported by the installation stand and including an attachment surface configured to carry the first workpiece. The installation stand also includes an adjustment mechanism for positioning a carrier plate to a first predefined position to define a gap between the first and second workpieces and also to a second predefined position such that a predetermined bondline thickness is defined between the first and second workpieces.
MACHINE AND PROCESS FOR PACKAGING UNIQUE ITEMS
A method of packaging a series of differently shaped objects. The method includes receiving a first object to be packaged and identifying a first length of a stock packaging material suitable for enclosing the first object. The method continues by creating, with a bag making machine, a first bag from the stock packaging material having approximately the first length, which leads to substantially enclosing the first object in the first bag. Then the method continues by receiving a second object to be packaged, the second object having a shape or size different from the first object. A second length of the stock packaging material suitable for enclosing the second object is identified. The method continues by creating, with the bag making machine, a second bag from the stock packaging material having approximately the second length, followed by substantially enclosing the second object in the second bag.
Peelable heat-shrink tubing
A heat shrink tubing, which can be readily peeled in the longitudinal direction after use (e.g., to remove the heat shrink tubing from an underlying material) is provided herein. The heat shrink tubing can be of various compositions, and generally is produced from at least one fluorinated, copolymeric resin. The tubing can exhibit desirable physical properties such as good optical clarity (e.g., translucency or transparency) and/or peelability, exhibiting one or more of complete, straight, and even peeling along a given length of tubing.
Electrorheological Fluid Structure with Attached Conductor and Method of Fabrication
A polymeric housing may have a channel defined therein. A first conductive trace may at least partially coincide with the channel. A first wire may have a first conductor surrounded by a first insulating jacket. The first conductor may be in electrical communication with the first conductive trace. A jacket bonding region of the first jacket may be welded to a housing bonding region of the housing. The jacket bonding region and the housing bonding region may be formed from a common type of polymer.
A system for a footwear sole component to control an incline in between a footbed and an outsole. An incline adjuster is positioned between the footbed and the outsole. The incline adjuster has a polymeric housing having a first fluid chamber, a second fluid chamber, and a fluid transfer channel; a controller having a processor, a memory, an inertial measurement unit (IMU), and a low energy wireless communication module. The controller determines whether forces from a wearer foot on the first fluid chamber and on the second fluid chamber are creating a pressure within the first fluid chamber that is higher than a pressure within the second fluid chamber, or vice versa.
