REPAIR CONCEPT COMPRISING PRE-IMPREGNATED PINNED FOAM CORE FOR SANDWICH STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS
A method for repairing a sandwich composite structure comprising a pinned foam core. In the sub-region in which the pinned foam core is damaged, the at least one upper or lower cover layer is removed as far as the pinned foam. The pinned foam core is removed. A pinned replacement foam core is inserted, the pinned replacement foam core being impregnated with a resin. An upper or lower replacement cover layer is applied. The pinned replacement foam core and optionally the upper or lower replacement cover layer are cured.
Fiber preform of commingled fiber bundle for overmolding
A fiber preform for use in a resin transfer molding or liquid composite molding process and process of making the same are provided. The preform includes a substrate, a fiber bundle arranged on the substrate in a predetermined pattern and attached to the substrate by a plurality of stitches of a thread. The fiber preform is capable of being pre-formed into a three-dimensional shape. The fiber preform along with a sheet of preformed thermoset resin that impregnates at least a portion of the fiber preform forms a composite material. The fiber preform reinforces areas of stress concentration of a core to form a vehicle component.
Method and system for attaching a piece of equipment to a structure made from composite material
A method of placing a fastener plate on a structure made of composite material, the structure being obtained by a technique of injecting resin under a vacuum, the technique including placing a fiber preform in a closed mold, injecting a thermosetting resin into the mold, and polymerizing the resin prior to cooling. The method includes mounting a metal fastener plate against a wall of the mold before putting the fiber preform into place, the fastener plate coming into contact with one of faces of the fiber preform while the fiber preform is being put into place in the mold, and the resin becoming deposited between the fastener plate and the fiber preform while the resin is being injected into the mold. The method may be used in particular for fastening equipment on a composite material fan casing of a gas turbine for an aeroengine.

Lightning strike protection material for dry lay-up / dry fiber placement device
A flat metallic structure having a multiplicity of openings and having a width between 6 and 1000 mm. The metallic structure is treated with a metallic impregnating material whose melting point is lower than that of the flat metallic structure, and wherein the conductivity of the metal before the impregnation is at least 15 S/m. A use of such a structure as lightning protection for fiber composite components, as well as fiber composite components having such a structure, and a method for the production of such fiber composite components.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING BY MOLDING ELONGATE AND HOLLOW WORKPIECES MADE FROM COMPOSITE MATERIAL, MOLDING DEVICE FOR IMPLEMENTING THE METHOD AND WORKPIECES OBTAINED
The method includes producing an initial preform on a mandrel by filament winding without generating shrinking, cutting the initial preform to the correct length, placing the assembly provided beforehand with internal drainage device and pressurization device into a female mold, and bringing the preform assembly to a softening temperature and pressurizing the assembly at both ends until it is deformed by a diametrical increase in its dimensions. The method further includes bringing the impregnation resin to polymerization temperature and pressure in order to allow the workpiece to consolidate, its external shape becoming consistent with the internal shape of the mold, opening the mold and removing the workpiece from the mold, and machining the final shapes of the composite workpiece.
