Method for Producing a Core Brush Comprising Polyvinyl Formalin Bristles
20170274565 · 2017-09-28 ·

A method of producing a brush for the cleaning of electronic components. In this method, a plastic core is prepared and submerged into a solvent to melt the outer surface of the core. While the outer surface of the plastic core is still partially melted, it is rolled through a trough of powdered polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) such that granules of PVA melt into and subsequently become embedded at the outer surface. As the solvent evaporates, the outer surface of the core re-hardens and the granules of PVA become firmly entrapped at the outer surface. The PVA covered shaft is placed in a mold, which is then filled with a PVA solution. As the solution cures, it forms a strong bond with the PVA granules that are embedded at the surface of the plastic core. Thereafter, the mold components are disassembled, leaving behind the finished cored brush.

Animal toy and method of manufacture
11241843 · 2022-02-08 ·

An animal toy is provided constructed from a latex or natural rubber material and formed into a ball. The ball is formed of an aggregate of particulate material that are bound together to form a substantially non-hollow construction. Pieces of latex are joined together to form balls, and the balls may be pressed together and constructed by hand or, alternatively, pressed into molds. By constructing the balls by hand, no two balls, even balls of similar size, are identical. Each ball has irregular outer surface that forms a variety of resilient protuberances that provide beneficial oral hygiene effects when chewed or rubbed against the teeth.

Resistively Heated Thermoplastic Washout Mandrel
20170232644 · 2017-08-17 ·

The present disclosure is directed to a method of forming a composite component. The method includes laying one or more layers of uncured composite material onto a mandrel. The mandrel which includes a plurality of conductive media dispersed in a thermoplastic material. An electric current is supplied to the mandrel to resistively heat the one or more layers of uncured composite material to a temperature sufficient to cure the one or more layers of uncured composite material to form a cured composite component. The mandrel is removed from the cured composite component.

Method And Apparatus For Support Removal Using Directed Atomized And Semi-Atomized Fluid

An apparatus and method for removing support material from and/or smoothing surfaces of an additively manufactured part (the “AM part”) is disclosed. The apparatus may include a chamber, a support surface within the chamber, one or more nozzles within the chamber, a tank positioned below the nozzles, and a diverter positioned between the nozzles and the tank. The support surface may be configured to support the AM part and may have one or more openings configured to allow the fluid to pass through the opening(s). The nozzles may be configured to spray a fluid at the AM part, and the spray may be an atomized or semiatomized spray of the fluid. The diverter comprises an umbrella or a diverter shield and diverts sprayed fluid from directly impacting the fluid being collected in the tank, whereby foaming of the fluid in the tank is reduced.

Debinder for 3D printed objects
11235386 · 2022-02-01 · ·

A debinder provides for debinding printed green parts in an additive manufacturing system. The debinder can include a storage chamber, a process chamber, a distill chamber, a waste chamber, and a condenser. The storage chamber stores a liquid solvent for debinding the green part. The process chamber debinds the green part using a volume of the liquid solvent transferred from the storage chamber. The distill chamber collects a solution drained from the process chamber and produces a solvent vapor from the solution. The condenser condenses the solvent vapor to the liquid solvent and transfer the liquid solvent to the storage chamber. The waste chamber collects a waste component of the solution.

Three-dimension formation composition, method of manufacturing three-dimensional structure, and three-dimensional structure

There are provided a method of manufacturing a three-dimensional structure, and three-dimension formation composition, by each which a three-dimensional structure can be manufactured with high dimensional accuracy, and provided a three-dimensional structure manufactured with high dimensional accuracy. There is provided a method of manufacturing a three-dimensional structure, in which the three-dimensional structure is manufactured by laminating a layer, the method including: forming the layer using a three-dimension formation composition containing particles, a binding resin, and a water-based solvent; removing the water-based solvent from the layer by heating the layer; and applying a binding solution containing a binder to the layer, in which the binding resin has an ammonium salt of a carboxyl group as a functional group.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SUPPORT REMOVAL IN STEREOLITHOGRAPHIC ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
20220040915 · 2022-02-10 ·

Systems and methods for making it easier to remove support structures printed in conjunction with printing an object using stereolithographic additive manufacturing are disclosed. In some exemplary embodiments, one or more interfaces between the printed object and the support structures are modulated to allow for easy separation between them, in some instances even when the object and support structures are made from the same material. Various modulation techniques are disclosed, including adjusting an intensity of exposure to light at interfaces between the object and support structures, and using two materials where one material cures at two wavelength ranges and the other material only cures at one of the two wavelength ranges. Other systems and methods that allow for easy separation of part and support structure are also described.
