Method of manufacturing a rigid repair wrap including a laminate disposed laterally within the repair wrap
09718243 · 2017-08-01 · ·

A repair wrap for repairing or strengthening an item. The repair wrap includes a fabric, where the fabric includes one or more fibers. The repair wrap also includes a film disposed laterally within the fabric. The repair wrap further includes a hardening material disposed in the fabric. The fabric is configured to be wrapped around a portion of an item. Curing the hardening material is configured to form a shell about the portion of the item.

PIPE-LINER EVERSION SYSTEM AND METHOD
20170326784 · 2017-11-16 ·

A pipe-liner system for lining a pipe and methods of use thereof. A continuous, eversible extended liner is formed from a pipe-liner attached to an extender-tube via a substantially leak-proof connection there between. Lengths of the extender-tube and the pipe-liner are each chosen so that the pipe-liner is caused to be accurately positioned within the pipe upon everting the extended liner into the pipe by a pressurized fluid. The pipe-liner is held against an interior surface of the pipe being lined by inserting an inflatable bladder into the extended liner and filling the bladder with pressurized fluid. When a resin in the pipe-liner has hardened, the bladder is removed and the extender-tube is detached from the pipe-liner.

ASYMMETRICAL FABRICS COMPOSITION FOR WINDING APPLICATIONS IN PIPE RELINING
20170254467 · 2017-09-07 ·

A continuous fabric for use in forming a repair liner for reinforcing a pipe. The fabric includes a top layer and one or more bottom layers. The width of the top layer is less than the width of the continuous fabric and the density of the top layer is less than the density of at least one of the at least one or more bottom layers. The top layer may serve as a guide for winding the fabric in an overlapping pattern about a mandrel so that the essentially only the top layer is visible in the fabric winding.

METHOD OF REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF A TIP SECTION OF A ROTOR BLADE

A method of mounting a replacement tip section to an exposed end of a rotor blade includes removing an existing tip section from the rotor blade to create the exposed end of the rotor blade, installing the rotor blade having the exposed end onto a holding fixture, assembling the replacement tip section about the exposed end of the rotor blade, positioning a bonding fixture about the replacement tip section, and curing the replacement tip section to the exposed end of the rotor blade.

Body panels for repairing a damaged vehicle body
11358654 · 2022-06-14 ·

A body panel for repairing damaged vehicle bodies including a layer assembly. The body panel makes use of a fibrous sheet that includes fiber glass, carbon fiber, or Kevlar that would be easily painted and installed to replace damaged vehicle bodies. The body panel makes great usage for repairing damaged body panels as it is strong and durable as it does not dent, it is lightweight, it is inexpensive, and it importantly does not rust.

METHOD FOR REPAIRING COMPOSITE COMPONENTS USING A SUPPORT MEMBER
20220176658 · 2022-06-09 ·

A method for repairing composite components includes positioning one or more repair fiber plies relative to a repair interface of a composite component such that a butt joint is formed at the repair interface between the one or more repair fiber plies and the composite component. Furthermore, the method includes forming a cavity within the composite component such that the cavity extends through the repair interface. Additionally, the method includes installing a support member within the cavity. In this respect, the support member extends across the butt joint such that a first portion of the support member is positioned within the composite component and a second portion of the support member is positioned within the one or more repair fiber plies.

Repair including a chamfered bracket and a chamfered bracket component for reinforcing a damaged structural element made from composite materials
11331868 · 2022-05-17 · ·

A repair for a structural element made from a composite material includes a bracket defining a first surface and a second surface. The first surface is adapted for facing the structural element. A chamfer is located on a first end of the bracket. An angle is defined between a plane of the chamfer and a plane of the first surface, the first surface of the bracket being adapted to be disposed adjacent to a side of the structural element. The repair also includes a sealant material between the bracket and the structural element, where the sealant material occupies a space established between the chamfer and the structural element.
