Repair materials made of at least unvulcanized rubber are applied on a repair site of a damaged part of a tire, heating pads are applied on surfaces of the repair materials, wood pieces or other stuffing members differing in size are stuffed inside the tire, in a tire circumferential in tire circumferential direction where the repair materials are applied. The tire circumferential is fastened and pressed from surroundings by bands, and the repair site is heated by the heating pads to vulcanize the unvulcanized rubber of the repair materials, to thereby repair the tire. This repair method provides a low-cost tire repair method capable of maintaining the shape of the tire at the time of pressing and vulcanization, in various kinds of tires.

SYSTEM FOR INSPECTING A REPAIR OR JOINT CONSISTING OF A COMPOSITE MATERIAL APPLIED TO A STRUCTURE

This invention relates to inspection techniques for use on composite joints and repairs. In this context, this invention proposes a system for inspecting a repair or joint consisting of a composite material applied to a structure, comprising at least one exciter or element that is excitable (2, 10) to a thermal and/or vibrational stimulus, the at least one exciter or excitable element (2, 10) being integrated into the repair (1) or joint.

Apparatus for repairing a tension member

An assembly and method for repairing sheathing on a tension member of a post-tensioning tendon may include an outer tube having first and second end portions, a tubular long seal positioned inside the outer tube, the tubular long seal being shorter than the outer tube, first and second seals positioned in the first and second end portions of the outer tube, respectively, and first and second nuts retaining the first and second seals in the first and second end portions of the outer tube, respectively. The assembly may define a longitudinal passage adapted to receive the tension member and the presence of the assembly on the tension member seals the portion of the tension member that is within the assembly. An inner tube may be positioned between the outer tube and the tubular long seal and may radially compress the tubular long seal.

Method for repairing ceramic matrix composite and ceramic matrix composite member

A method for repairing a target member including a ceramic matrix composite reinforced by ceramic fiber includes: a removal step of removing at least a part of a surface of the target member; an arrangement step of arranging a green body for repair which includes the ceramic fiber on a portion where the surface is removed in the removal step; an impregnation step of impregnating at least the portion of the target member where the green body for repair is disposed with slurry; and a sintering step of sintering the target member on which the green body for repair is disposed, after the impregnation step.

Ceramic matrix composite airfoil repair

Methods for repairing composite components are provided. For instance, one exemplary method includes machining an interlocking feature into an existing component. A replacement material or core having an interlocking feature complementary to the interlocking feature of the existing component is then joined with the component. The interlocking features interlock to form a joint. The joint is then overlaid with one or more plies to rebuild the outer surface of the component and seal the joint. A bonding process can be used to chemically bond the newly joined parts together. Repaired composite components are also provided.

Additive manufacturing of elastomeric seals for repair

A method of modifying or repairing a fluid conduit assembly includes scanning a sealing feature of a fluid conduit, the sealing feature including an abnormality, creating a 3D model of a sealing member configured to provide a fluid seal with the sealing feature, and utilizing the 3D model to form the sealing member via additive manufacturing. The method may include modifying the sealing feature of the fluid conduit to reduce or remove the abnormality and provide the sealing feature with modified dimensions. Scanning the sealing feature may include determining the modified dimensions of the sealing feature.
