A method for underwater repair of a structure includes preparing a repair compound, applying the repair compound on a first side of a strip, placing the strip on an area requiring repair such that the first side of the strip faces the area requiring repair, and pressing on a second side of the strip opposite the first side to apply the repair compound to the area requiring repair. The method also includes distributing the repair compound over the area requiring repair while pushing water away from the area by pressing along the second side of the strip, and curing the repair compound.

A method eliminates voids in the bond line and manipulates a thickness of the bond line. This method includes: applying an adhesive at a center of an area of a structure; placing a doubler on the adhesive over the area of the structure, wherein the doubler has a peripheral edge; and maintaining a negative pressure at the peripheral edge of the doubler while simultaneously maintaining a positive pressure at the doubler to purge entrapped gases and control a thickness of the bond line at the peripheral edge of the doubler.

Bond fixture for composite splice cap assembly

A bond fixture for bonding a component includes a frame defining a chamber for receiving the component. A first pad and a second pad are mounted to the frame. At least one of the first pad and the second pad is movable relative to the frame to adjust a pressure applied to the component. A caul assembly is adapted to be disposed in thermal communication with the component. The caul assembly heats a localized portion of the component.

System for analysis of a repair for a structure

An apparatus is provided for analysis of a repair for a structure by identifying component parts of the structure that have common material properties and geometric constraints, and based thereon determining a generic repair component for the component parts that also have the common material properties and the geometric constraints. A set of loads are extracted from a loads model of the undamaged structure and redistributed in a loads redistribution model at a damaged or defective portion of the component part. The set of redistributed loads indicate loading incurred by the generic repair component under an external load. The apparatus then uses the redistributed loads to perform an analysis to determine a margin of safety of the generic repair component and, in instances in which the margin of safety is positive, outputs the material properties and geometric constraints of the generic repair component to a fabrication system for production thereof.

The embodiments herein disclose a kit for emergency repair of broken window of automobiles. The kit comprises the a clear 20 gauge vinyl, a crystal clear gorilla tape, a double sided clear mounting strips, latex glove and dry erase pen. Following are the steps followed for repairing the broken window screen or wind shields of automobiles. The outer edge of window is wiped clean or dirt, grit and moisture before installation. The latex glove is worn. The double sided mounting tape is applied around the edge of the window being repaired. The gauge vinyl is placed across window area. The dry erase marker is used to outline the window and create line to cut the excess gauge vinyl. The excess gauge vinyl is trimmed, the crystal clear tape is applied to seal outer edge of gauge vinyl with the outer edge of the window.

System and method for repairing a component made out of a plastic

A system for repairing a component made out of a plastic comprises a frame, a multiaxial guide device coupled with the frame, with a tool holder arranged thereon, an optical acquisition device, a processing device, and a plastic deposition device. The frame comprises a mounting device for retaining the frame on a component surface. The optical acquisition device, the processing device and the plastic deposition device are arranged on the tool holder. The optical acquisition device is set up to optically inspect a surface area of the component lying in proximity to the frame from at least one viewing angle, so as to acquire the spatial structure of the surface area. The processing device is set up to remove material of a damaged area from the component for generating a base surface with a desired structure and boundary edges.
