SKIN ANTISEPTIC APPLICATOR AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
20180326192 · 2018-11-15 ·

The invention relates to applicators for applying a solution or other composition (e.g., an antiseptic composition) to skin of a patient. The applicator may include a container body having a proximal end, a distal end, and a frangible member disposed at the distal end of the body. The applicator includes a first position where the container body and frangible member are a unitary piece (e.g., blow molded as a single piece), and a second position when the frangible member is rotated relative to the body to irreversibly break a weak point therebetween, releasing the composition in the hollow body through an opening. A porous applicator head may be positioned adjacent the distal end of the body and frangible member, so that the composition flows out the body, through the opening, and onto the head. The applicator may be formed in a blow-fill-seal process for improved sterility and ease of manufacture.

METHOD FOR BONDING DISCRETE DEVICES USING ANISOTROPIC CONDUCTIVE FILM

Methods and system which eliminate steps in the mounting a discrete device to an electronic circuit using a conductive film, shortening the time required to attach each discrete device. The methods place a discrete device onto the conductive tape and partially cure portions of the adhesive. The discrete device is then removed from the conductive tape along with the adhesive and conductive particles which have been transferred onto the contact pads of the discrete device. The discrete device is then placed on the substrate and aligned. Pressure and heat are applied to complete the bond.

METHOD FOR CREATING FULL COLOR HEAT ACTIVATED TRANSFERS

The present disclosure provides a method for transferring an image to a substrate that includes providing a transfer medium having at least one registration mark; printing an image on the transfer medium; covering the image with a backing layer, the backing layer not covering the registration mark; covering the backing layer with an adhesive layer; penetrating the adhesive layer and the backing layer with a cutting device at locations around the image, the penetrating of the adhesive layer and backing layer not penetrating the transfer medium; removing portions of the adhesive layer and backing layer from the locations around the image; and transferring the image to the substrate.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING LEAK DETECTABLE GEOMEMBRANE LINERS

A method for forming a geomembrane liner testable for leaks by securing adjacent panels together with the conductivity of the lower surface of an overlying panel broken along a line adjacent the panel overlapping edge, and the overlapping edges sealed along the line. A heat welder has slots for the overlapping panel edges, with a heated wedge between the slots and having a projection to break the conductivity of the overlying panel bottom surface as it passes the wedge. The slots merge to press the liner edges together to heat weld them along the line of broken conductivity as the welder is moved along the panel edges.

A resin-junction body includes a first resin member, a second resin member including a concave portion and laminated on the first resin member so as to contact the first resin member at a contact surface. The concave portion comprises a bottom face on a first resin member side. The resin-junction body further includes a joining layer that joins the first resin member and the second resin member and that extends from the bottom face towards the first resin member.

FIBER-REINFORCED PLASTIC AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

A fiber-reinforced plastic producing method capable of easily producing a fiber-reinforced plastic in which swelling and warpage are less likely to occur and of which excellent mechanical characteristics and isotropy are ensured, and a fiber-reinforced plastic in which swelling and warpage are suppressed from occurring. The fiber-reinforced plastic producing method has a step for obtaining a material (A) including a prepreg base material in which a region (B), where reinforcing fibers pulled and aligned in one direction are impregnated with a matrix resin and a plurality of cuts (b) are formed, and a region (C), where a plurality of cuts (c) are formed, are alternately formed in a direction orthogonal to a fiber axis of the reinforcing fiber, a step for hot-pressing the material (A) while moving the material (A) under specific conditions, and a step for cooling the pressed material (A) to obtain the fiber-reinforced plastic.

Extruded fastener and method for making same

An extruded integrated fastener assembly comprising a plurality of fasteners cut to length from an extruded length of material. Unwanted areas of material are cut away leaving the individual fasteners, which fasteners are also connected together by an expanse of material that remains. The fastener assembly can be single durometer or double durometer. A profile with retention members and/or leg features are formed in the fasteners for connecting to a predetermined component. The process for manufacturing the extruded integrated fastener assembly includes providing fabrication tooling suitable to cut away the unwanted area between the fasteners. The fasteners are thereby able to be cut to any desired length.
