Link belt and method for producing same
10648534 · 2020-05-12 · ·

A link belt is provided wherein the link belt is formed of a plurality of links forming a series of links in successive overlapping relation. The link belt includes a first end having a first connector and a second end having a second connector so that the first connector is connected with the second connector to form a continuous loop of link belt. The link belt is formed by applying a lateral force against the assembled link belt while the link belt is under an axial tension to stretch the belt. After the step of stretching the belt, the first connector is connected with the second connector to form a continuous belt.

Provided is a method of manufacturing a panel of a wind turbine nacelle, which method includes the steps of providing a mold for the panel; arranging at least one divider in the mold to spatially divide the mold into at least a first mold region and a second mold region; arranging composite material in the mold; curing the composite material; and separating the cured panel into at least a first panel portion and a second panel portion along a line defined by a divider. Also provided is a method of constructing a wind turbine nacelle, and a wind turbine including such a nacelle.

COMPOSITE ARTICLE ASSEMBLY SYSTEM AND METHOD
20200122381 · 2020-04-23 ·

A composite article assembly arrangement includes an all-in-one assembly station for supporting certain two-workpiece or composite article assembly methodologies with a view toward a preferred lid assembly application. The all-in-one assembly station includes a stationary main base plate, opposed intermediate compactor plates, and opposed outer plates, which compactor plates and outer plates are movable relative to the stationary main base plate. One or more continuous webs bearing thermoformed first and second workpieces are directed through the assembly station, which assembly station operates to both separate the first and second workpieces from the web(s) as directed therethrough and assemble the first and second workpieces in one clapping movement of the compactor plates and outer plates relative to the main base plate. The main base plate comprises an axial alignment chamber or cavity that operates to mechanically or structurally maintain axial alignment of the first and second workpieces during workpiece assembly.

3D printing of rolled materials
10618216 · 2020-04-14 · ·

A shape can be 3D printed by advancing a continuous length of material past a cutting head, cutting the material along one or more paths, providing adhesive on a surface of the material, and spirally winding the material onto a spool, such that the cut paths on each layer of the spiral are in alignment according to the 3D printed shape. A 3D printing system includes a material infeed configured to provide a supply of sheet material, a cutting head for cutting the material, a glue applicator, and a gathering spindle configured to rotate such that the material is spirally wound onto the spindle.

PULTRUDED STRIPS
20200094442 · 2020-03-26 ·

A pultruded strip (50) of reinforcing material for stacking with one or more similar strips (50) to form a spar cap for a wind turbine blade is disclosed. The pultruded strip comprises a core (56) comprising fibres (58) disposed in a resin matrix (60) and a sacrificial layer (52) at least partially covering one or more surfaces of the core (56). The sacrificial layer (52) is a resin layer defining an adherend surface (62A) of the strip. A pultrusion process for making such a strip (50) comprises drawing resin-coated reinforcing fibres (58) through a pultrusion die (80) in a process direction to form a core (56) of the strip (50) and applying further resin (53) to one or more surfaces of the core (56) to form a sacrificial resin layer (52) defining an adherend surface (62A) of the strip (50).

Floor panel

A floor may include a substrate having a top side and a bottom side. A top layer may be provided on the substrate. The top layer may consist of a printed thermoplastic film and a thermoplastic transparent or translucent layer provided on the printed thermoplastic film. The top layer may be directly adhered to the substrate by heat welding the printed thermoplastic film and the top side of the substrate, in the absence of a glue layer. The substrate may be a synthetic material board including a filler. The substrate at least at two opposite edges may include coupling means provided in the synthetic material board. The thermoplastic transparent or translucent layer may be provided with a structure.

Facility and method for manufacturing reinforcing plies with a device for turning over strips while flat

The installation comprises a preparation station for preparing strips by cutting a straight wire band, a jointing station arranged to butt-joint the strips obtained from the preparation station so as to form a reinforcing ply, and a station for turning over strips, which is interposed between the preparation station and the jointing station. The installation also comprises a first receiving surface, arranged to receive a strip, a second receiving surface associated with a reversing device which is arranged to transfer a strip from said first receiving surface to said second receiving surface, by thus turning over the strip. A gripping member is arranged to take a strip from the first or second receiving surface in order to allow the jointing station to selectively construct a reinforcing ply with a left-hand ply handle or with a right-hand ply angle.

Packaging Machine and Method for Producing a Packaging Unit as Well as a Packaging Unit Made of Packaging Sleeves and an Outer Packaging

Shown and described are a packaging machine and a method for producing a packaging unit from a packaging sleeve group comprising a plurality of flat folded, upright packaging sleeves, and an outer packaging. It is provided that the packaging machine comprises at least one conveyer unit for conveying the packaging sleeve group in a conveyor direction perpendicular to the longitudinal extent of the packaging group and at least one outer packaging unit for preparing an outer packaging-shaping sheet material in a base position, and in that, seen in the conveyor direction behind the sheet material in the base position, a sealing unit is provided for sealing of the sheet material enclosed in the packaging sleeve group.
