20220001632 · 2022-01-06 ·

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a three-dimensional shaped article, comprising the following steps: a) unfolding the three-dimensional profile of the three-dimensional shaped article with a curved surface via a computer-aided design software; b) dividing the unfolded three-dimensional profile obtained in step a) into several elemental layers via the computer-aided design software; c) cutting a continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin based composite sheet to have the same or similar shape and size with the elemental layers; d) stacking the cut composite sheets in order of size to obtain a stack; and g) forming the stack obtained in step d), followed by demoulding and optionally trimming to obtain the three-dimensional shaped article. With the method of the present invention, a continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin based composite sheet can be processed into a three-dimensional shaped article with uneven thickness and a high degree of curvature. The resulting three-dimensional shaped article features a light weight, good impact resistance and compression resistance.

CLIP ON MOLDABLE BEAR SPRAY CANISTER HOLSTER WITH ADJUSTABLE RETENTION

In the world of bear spray, options for holsters are almost nonexistent. Manufactures of bear sprays offer holsters that are designed to be inexpensive, and mass produced. Most of these holsters require the use of a belt, something a lot of people are not wearing while they are hiking, hunting, or camping. The current options available completely lack versatility to the users preferred attire and are of a disposable nature. I felt that if a product as wonderful as bear spray is to work to save humans and bears lives it must be able to be carried in a comfortable user-friendly holster that has different attachment options that will work with the attire that the user is going to be wearing. It needed to be in a holster that retains and protects the canister and allows for lightning fast draws in dangerous situations. I worked hard to create a holster that is high quality, durable, and aids to assist preform the task of quickly deploying bear spray in high stress, emergency situations. Holsters are as much of the protection system as the canister of bear spray itself.

THREE DIMENSIONAL PRINTING OF COMPOSITE REINFORCED STRUCTURES

Various embodiments related to three dimensional printers, and reinforced filaments, and their methods of use are described. In one embodiment, a void free reinforced filament is fed into a conduit nozzle. The reinforced filament includes a core, which may be continuous or semi-continuous, and a matrix material surrounding the core. The reinforced filament is heated to a temperature greater than a melting temperature of the matrix material and less than a melting temperature of the core prior to drag the filament from the conduit nozzle.

A resin frame includes frame members combined into a frame shape that includes a corner portion, and a joint portion joining a pair of the frame members which are adjacent to each other at the corner portion. The joint portion includes an entire-surface welded portion, in which end surfaces of the pair of the frame members are welded to each other over an entire surface in a thickness direction of a plate portion of the frame members, and a partial welded portion, in which the end surfaces of the pair of the frame members are welded to each other on one side of the entire surface in the thickness direction while another side of the entire surface in the thickness direction is not welded. The entire-surface welded portion and the partial welded portion are present at different portions on an outer periphery of the joint portion.

Production method for low molecular weight polymer, and production device and production method for melt-blown non-woven fabric

A production method for a low molecular weight polymer suitable for a melt-blown non-woven fabric and a production device for melt-blown non-woven fabric, with which a high molecular weight polymer can be reduced in molecular weight by applying a shear force to the high molecular weight polymer without adding an additive. The low molecular weight polymer and the melt-blown non-woven fabric are produced using a continuous high shearing device that applies a shear force to the high molecular weight polymer serving as a raw material by rotation of a screw body to reduce the molecular weight of the high molecular weight polymer so as to obtain a low molecular weight polymer, and cools the low molecular weight polymer by passing the low molecular weight polymer through a passage arranged in the axial direction inside the screw body.

Method of manufacturing a grille for a thrust reverser

The invention proposes a method for manufacturing a grille for a cascade type thrust reverser, of a jet engine, said method including the following steps: a) manufacturing a first component comprising continuous or long fibres, pre-impregnated by a thermoplastic or thermosetting resin; b) manufacturing, subsequently or together with step a), a series of second components each including discontinuous fibres, pre-impregnated by a thermoplastic or thermosetting resin, step b) being carried out such that the second components are, on the one hand, arranged transversally with respect to a longitudinal direction of the first component on at least one side of the first component and, on the other hand, spaced from one another according to this longitudinal direction, so as to form a comb-shaped structure, wherein the second components are consolidated to the first component.

Thermally laminated tab liner

Liner having an induction heat sealable layer for sealing to a rim of a container, and a pull tab for ease of removal of the liner from the container rim. An insert is disposed between multilayer upper and lower components, has a heat bondable polyolefin layer that is thermally laminated to polyolefin layers of the upper and lower components, forming a pull tab between the integrated polyolefin layers. The resulting composite resists delamination and can be formed in a single thermal lamination step, avoiding the multiple lamination steps, associated high equipment costs, and complex layer constructions of the prior art.

An apparatus and method for joining pipes includes a plate for melting mating surfaces of the pipes to be joined. Additionally, the apparatus utilizes a vacuum in order to push the first and second pipes together in lieu of hand or mechanical pressure which may be inconsistent. Additionally, the vacuum allows the pipes to be joined to settle on each other in order to create a pressure about a periphery of the end of the pipe being joined to the other pipe. The consistent pressure creates a very strong joint between the first and second pipes.
