COMPOSITE PREFORM, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME, COMPOSITE CONTAINER, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAID COMPOSITE CONTAINER, AND HEAT SHRINKABLE PLASTIC MEMBER
This method for manufacturing a composite preform (70) includes: preparing a preform (10a) that is formed from a plastic material; preparing a tubular heat shrinkable plastic member (40a) that is longer than the preform (10a) and has a margin (80a) for thermocompression bonding at one end; inserting the preform (10a) into the plastic member (40a); having the plastic member (40a) undergo thermal shrinkage by heating the preform (10a) and the plastic member (40a); and bonding the margin (80a) of the plastic member by thermocompression.
Plastic Container With Strapped Base
A container may have a base, a sidewall connected to the base, a bell connected to the sidewall, and a finish connected to the bell. The base may have strap ribs to resist deformation of the base. The sidewall may have recessed columns to resist bending, leaning, crumbling, and/or stretching. The strap ribs and recessed columns may vertically line up along a central axis of the container to communicate forces on the container vertically along the container to continuously resist.
EXTENSION DEVICE FOR THE NECK OF A CONTAINER FORMED IN A MACHINE FOR FORMING CONTAINERS FROM PREFORMS
A machine for producing a container from a preform having a body and a neck defining an inner cylindrical opening. The machine includes a container forming and filling station where the preform is placed in a mold having a molding cavity and a forming liquid is injected into the preform thereby forming and filling the container with a liquid. Prior to forming of the container, an extension device is attached to the neck of the preform thereby forming an assembly. The extension device includes a connection part for attaching to the preform and an extension part defining an inner opening extending in the continuity of the inner opening of the neck of the preform. The extension device remains attached to the neck of the preform at least during the forming and the filling of the container.
Foamed and stretched plastic bottle
A foamed and stretched plastic bottle having, in the body portion thereof, a foamed region in which foamed cells are distributed, wherein, in at least a portion of the foamed region, the lengths of the foamed cells in the axial direction of the bottle are so distributed as to gradually decrease as the positions of the foamed cells shift from the outer surface side of the body portion toward the central portion thereof and then gradually increase as their positions shift from the central portion thereof toward the inner surface side thereof. The foamed and stretched plastic bottle of the invention exhibits excellent light-shielding property.
Plural nested preform assembly and method of manufacture
A plural preform assembly having nested preforms. The preforms are held together by an interference fit. The interference fit is provided by the friction between the preforms which occurs when the inner preform is inserted into the outer preform. At least one preform may have ribs extending radially towards the other preform. The ribs provided concentricity and interference to hold the preforms together during subsequent operations. The preforms may later be blow molded to provide a bag in bottle or similar container.
CONTAINER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A method for manufacturing a food and/or beverage packaging container is provided. The method includes injection molding a preform using a two phase injection system. A first phase of the two phase injection system includes injecting a first material into the preform and a second phase of the two phase injection system includes injecting a second material into the preform. The method further includes disposing the preform in a mold, blow molding the preform into an intermediate article having a length, a diameter and side walls having a wall thickness, and trimming the intermediate article to form a finished container having a wide mouth neck. Systems and finished products are disclosed.
Preform design for lightweight container
A preform configured to form a container by stretch blow molding. The preform includes a finish portion and a tip portion. The finish portion is at a first end of the preform and is a container finish of the container. The tip portion is at a second end of the preform opposite to the first end. The tip portion is configured to form a container base and a container heel of the container. An outer surface of the tip portion includes a flat surface, a first radius on a first side of the flat surface, a second radius between the first radius and the flat surface, a third radius extending from the flat surface on a second side of the flat surface, and a fourth radius extending from the third radius towards the second end of the preform through which a longitudinal axis of the preform extends.
The strap ribs and recessed columns may vertically line up along a central axis of the container to communicate forces on the container vertically along the container to continuously resist deformation in the base and the sidewall.
Extension device for the neck of a container formed in a machine for forming containers from preforms
A method for producing a container from a preform having a body and a neck defining an inner cylindrical opening. The method including the steps of placing the preform in a mold having a molding cavity, forming the container by injecting a forming fluid into the preform, and filling the container with a liquid. Prior to forming of the container, an extension device is attached to the neck of the preform. The extension device includes an extension part defining an inner opening extending in the continuity of the inner opening of the neck. The extension device remaining attached to the neck of the preform at least during the forming and the filling steps.
Manufacturing method for forming a container from a preform with a handle notch
A method for forming a container with an integral handle includes heating a preform having an integral handle in a first oven, stretching the preform, closing a first mold having a first mold recess and a second mold having a second mold recess around the preform, and blowing air into the preform. A handle pocket wedge block is inserted into a handle pocket of the integral handle of the preform within the first mold and the second mold.
