Method and apparatus for batched compression molding of rubber and plastic products

Provided is a method and device for batched compression molding of rubber and plastic products by means of multiple mold cavities, including alternating operation of a blank shuttle and a male mold that is in a bottle cap mold, being controlled by means of engagement of two partial gear sets. Mold opening motion, isostatic pressing energy storage, and spring energy storage are implemented by means of the engagement characteristic of the partial gear sets, and mold closing and compression molding are implemented by means of the non-engagement characteristic, isostatic pressing energy storage, and pressurization of the partial gear sets. The method and device effectively resolve the general problem of low production efficiency and poor precision and stability of existing compression molding cap manufacturing equipment.

A collector includes a container body defining an interior containment space and having an open end for access, and a cap in covering relation to the open end and having an opening for receiving therein a distal end of a kerrison-type rongeur. An improvement includes the cap including a first plurality of scrapers in the form of fingers for engaging and dislodging cut bone from the cutting area of the distal end of the rongeur and a second plurality of scrapers in the form of wipers for engaging and dislodging cut bone from the cutting area of the distal end of the rongeur when the distal end of the rongeur is withdrawn through the opening from the collector, the second plurality being arranged so as to permit insertion of the distal end of the rongeur through the opening into the collector without engaging the distal end of the rongeur.

INJECTION MOLDED CAPS OR CLOSURES, AND METHODS THEREOF

An injection molded cap or closure having a weld line, wherein the injection molded cap or closure is formed from an ethylene-based resin comprising a high molecular weight component and a low molecular weight component.

PEELABLE RESEALABLE MEMBRANE FOR CONTAINERS
20220177190 · 2022-06-09 ·

The invention comprises a peelable membrane for resealably closing a metal end comprising an outer layer, a tacky layer, and a heat seal layer. The heat seal layer is permanently sealed to the metal end to cover at least one opening in the metal end. The tacky layer causes the peelable membrane to be resealable onto the metal end.

Method of forming a cut in a polymeric component

A method of forming a cut in a polymeric component includes providing a blade assembly including at least one blade, and a mandrel. The mandrel includes a rigid portion and a conformal support ring. The conformal support ring includes a material softer than the material forming the blade. A polymeric component is located between the mandrel and the at least one blade. The polymeric component is cut via the at least one blade. The at least one blade extends into the conformal support ring after the at least one blade has penetrated through the polymeric component.

CLOSURE FOR A PRODUCT-RETAINING CONTAINER

A closure for a container is disclosed. The closure comprises a core member comprising at least one thermoplastic polymer, and at least one peripheral layer at least partially surrounding and intimately bonded to at least one surface of the core member, said peripheral layer comprising at least one styrene block co-polymer, wherein the core member has a density in the range of from about 100 kg/m.sup.3 to 350 kg/m.sup.3 and the peripheral layer has a density in the range of from greater than 350 kg/m.sup.3 to about 1,500 kg/m.sup.3 and a thickness in the range of from 0.15 mm to less than 0.50 mm.

Hinged flip-top cap with tamper-evident inner ring
11787609 · 2023-10-17 ·

A hinged flip-top cap with a tamper-evident inner ring includes a base portion, which extends into a pourer portion, and a flip-top lid. A hinge arrangement connects the flip-top lid to the base portion and is foldable with respect to said base portion, so that flip-top lid can be tilted with respect to the base portion and moved between a closed position above the base portion and an open position detached and rotated from the base portion. The inner ring is position inwardly of the flip-top lid and the base portion and operates as a tamper-evident element that reveals whether a first opening between the flip-top lid and the base portion has been made.

Polyethylene with polyethylene glycol with increased environmental stress crack resistance

A polyethylene composition having increased environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR) is comprised of a polymer blend of a high density polyethylene (HDPE) and polyethylene glycol (PEG). The PEG is present in the polymer blend in an amount of from 0.5 wt. % to 15 wt. % by total weight of the polymer blend. The PEG may have an average molecular weight of from 2000 to 40,000. In a method of forming a polyethylene composition having increased ESCR, a HDPE is modified by combining the HDPE with PEG in a polymer blend, the PEG being present in an amount of from 0.5 wt. % to 15 wt. % by total weight of the polymer blend. The polymer blend can be formed into an article of manufacture, such as a bottle cap.
