Precision pharmaceutical 3D printing device
Provided herein are devices and systems for depositing a material or manufacturing a product, such as a pharmaceutical dosage form, by additive manufacturing. Further provided are methods of using the devices and systems, as well as methods of manufacturing a product, such as a pharmaceutical dosage form, by additive manufacturing. In certain embodiments, the device includes a material supply system configured to melt an pressurized a material, a pressure sensor configured to detect a pressure of the material within the device, and a control switch comprising a sealing needle operable in an open position and closed position. The sealing needle extends through a feed channel containing the material and includes a taper end, wherein the tapered end of the sealing needle engages a tapered inner surface of a nozzle to inhibit flow of the material through the nozzle when the sealing needle is in the closed position.
SEQUENTIAL PRESS AND CO-MOLD SYSTEM
Molding systems and methods of using such systems are provided.
GASTRIC RETENTIVE DEVICES
Provided are devices that are configured for gastric retention for a period of at least six hours (or at least three hours if the subject is in the fasted state) while maintaining their structural integrity and releasing or holding an active or diagnostic agent into or in gastric fluid of a human subject over that period, as well as methods of delivering an agent over an extended period by orally administering such devices to a subject, uses of an enteric polymer in the formation of devices that deliver an agent over an extended period of time, and methods of making such devices.
METHOD OF ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TO MAKE OBJECTS HAVING IMPROVED AND TAILORED PROPERTIES
Disclosed here is a method of making an article, the method including melt extruding a plurality of layers comprising one or more polymers in a preset pattern, wherein the extruded layers comprise one or more first layers comprising a first polymer composition A, and one or more second layers comprising a second polymer composition B different from polymer composition A, and fusing the plurality of layers to provide the article. Further disclosed is an article made by the above process.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
A composition for additive manufacturing of an article may include a base material, a functional particulate having at least one of an acicular morphology and a platy morphology, and binder. The functional particulate may increase a strength property of the article manufactured with the composition as compared to the strength property of the article manufactured with the composition being devoid of the functional particulate. A method of manufacturing an article via additive manufacturing may include providing a first layer of a powder composition. The powder composition may include a base material, a functional particulate, and binder. The method may also include binding the first layer of powder composition in a predetermined pattern to form a hardened two-dimensional shape including the powder composition, and successively providing additional layers of the powder composition and binding the respective layers to form the article.
Apparatus and method for realizing a web of fibrous material
An apparatus for producing a web of fibrous material includes a roll having incisions with a depth of 0.01-2.00 mm, a width of 0.01-2.00 mm, and a pitch 0.01-10.00 mm, and rotated at a peripheral velocity v.sub.1 equal to the velocity of an upstream apparatus unit; a belt stretched between transmission rollers that advances at a velocity v.sub.2 less than v.sub.1, wherein v.sub.1/v.sub.2 lies between 1.05 and 1.40; a presser roller rotating at a peripheral velocity v.sub.2, associated with a presser system acting to press the belt against the metal roll with a pressure of 1-200 kg per centimeter; and a system that feeds a sheet of pliable fibrous material between the belt and the roll, the belt having a longitudinal elongation of no more than 5%, dimensional stability along its entire length, a thickness of 1-10 cm, and a hardness 24-70 Shore.
Polyester resin composition
A polyester resin composition containing a polyester resin, and a fine cellulose fiber composite having an average fiber diameter of from 0.1 to 200 nm, wherein the fine cellulose fiber composite contains fine cellulose fibers and hydrocarbon groups being connected thereto via an amide bond. The polyester resin composition of the present invention can be worked into a molded article by thermoforming or injection-molding, and is suitably used for various industrial applications, such as daily sundries, household electric appliance parts, packaging materials for household electric appliance parts, and automobile parts. In addition, the fine cellulose fiber composite has high dispersibility against various resins and can exhibit thickening effects, so that it is suitable as various thickeners or the like.
AQUEOUS COMPOSITION COMPRISING DISPERSED ESTERIFIED CELLULOSE ETHER
An aqueous composition which is useful for producing coatings and capsule shells comprises a) dispersed particles of an esterified cellulose ether comprising (i) groups of the formula C(O)RCOOA or (ii) a combination of aliphatic monovalent acyl groups and groups of the formula C(O)RCOOA, wherein R is a divalent hydrocarbon group and A is hydrogen or a cation, and the total degree of ester substitution is more than 0.70, and b) an esterified cellulose ether comprising aliphatic monovalent acyl groups and groups of the formula C(O)RCOOH, R being a divalent hydrocarbon group, wherein I) the degree of neutralization of the groups C(O)RCOOH is not more than 0.4, II) the total degree of ester substitution is from 0.03 to 0.70, and III) the esterified cellulose ether b) has a solubility in water of at least 2.0 weight percent at 2 C.
