Methods and formulations for bonding dissimilar materials

The present disclosure is directed to a formulations of cements and methods for bonding dissimilar materials. The formulations and methods can bond a Non-polyvinyl chloride (PVC) containing first polyolefin that is amorphous or has low crystallinity to a second material that is a rigid material or a hard PVC. The methods and formulations can work by co-dissolution at an interface, or activation of a one of the materials prior to bonding.

Provided is a method for manufacturing a gasket member as described below. A plate-like base material is clamped between a first and a second split mold, and a gasket is fixed to a surface of the base material by injecting and filling a rubber-like elastic material into a cavity defined between the base material and the first split mold. An air vent is provided including an exhaust groove and an exhaust hole, the exhaust groove extending from the cavity toward an inner or outer peripheral side on a butting surface between the base material and the first split mold and partially opening in a circumferential direction of the cavity, the exhaust hole extending from the exhaust groove in a clamping direction of the first and second split molds. Air in the cavity is discharged through the air vent when the rubber-like elastic material is injected and filled into the cavity.

MODULAR THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE STRUCTURES
20220410497 · 2022-12-29 ·

A method for bonding thermoplastic fiber-composite parts comprises providing surface texture on one or both parts being bonded, and/or providing both parts with engagement features. Such surface textures and engagement features have a specific geometry and fiber alignment that facilitate fibrous interlock between the two parts at a bonding interface via in-situ consolidation.

ENCAPSULATION ASSEMBLY FOR GLASS, ENCAPSULATED GLASS AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
20220408583 · 2022-12-22 ·

An encapsulation assembly includes a body located at edges of the functional glass; and a conductive module embedded in the body or located on a surface of the body, and electrically connected to a functional module on the functional glass. The process of forming an encapsulated glass from the encapsulation assembly for a functional glass can omit complicated manufacturing steps and save materials and thus reduce costs. An easy and stable control of the functional module in the glass can also be accomplished. Moreover, it is much easier to form an encapsulated glass from the glass, which facilitates glass mounting.
