Co-injection molded dispensing components method
A present application relates to a dispensing component for use with an urn liner. The dispensing component includes a spout formed of a polyethylene material and a flexible tube formed of a thermoplastic elastomer material. The spout and tube are formed together as a single component in a mold by co-injection of the polyethylene material and the thermoplastic elastomer material.
FLEXIBLE POLYMER-BASED MATERIAL FOR HOT ISOSTATIC PRESSING OR WARM ISOSTATIC PRESSING MOLDS
There is disclosed a sealable, flexible membrane for encapsulating a part to be isostatically pressed at an elevated temperature. The membrane includes at least one first layer of polymeric film having a melting point above the elevated temperature, and at least one second layer disposed on the first layer. The second layer comprising a metal. In one embodiment, the metal comes into contact with the part to be isostatically pressed. The membrane, which typically has a thickness ranging from 10 to about 500 m, and is impermeable to the flow of liquids and gases when sealed, can be used to warm press parts up to about 350 C. and pressures ranging from 5,000 psi to 100.000 psi. Methods to isostatically press parts using this sealable, flexible membrane are also disclosed. Bags made from the sealable, flexible membrane that are used in isostatic presses are also disclosed.
High-strength conductive polymer composite formed by angular extrusion
A high-strength conductive polymer composite can be made by mixing a a granular polymer and a conductive material, and processing the mixture using angular extrusion.
HEATING DEVICE FOR A HEATING AND SEALING SYSTEM
A protective packaging formation device is disclosed herein. The device includes an inflation assembly that directs fluid between first and second overlapping plies of a web material. The device also includes a sealing mechanism that includes an arcuate web-support surface. The web-support surface includes a heater that defines a heating zone that is operable to heat the plies to create a longitudinal heat seal that seals the first and second plies together as the web is driven over the heating zone in a downstream direction. The web-support surface also includes a cooling zone disposed downstream of the heating zone operable to allow the heated plies to cool at the longitudinal heat seal as the web is driven over the heating zone in a downstream direction, such that the cooled longitudinal heat seal retains the fluid between the plies.

Process for Forming a Powder
The present disclosure provides a process including providing a polyolefin aqueous dispersion having (50) to (90) wt % solids content of dispersion, the polyolefin aqueous dispersion containing solid particles containing a polyolefin including an ethylene-based polymer having a melting temperature from greater than (115) C. to (140) C., polyolefin wax, acrylic dispersant; and an aqueous phase including excess acrylic dispersant; adding diluting water to form a diluted polyolefin aqueous dispersion having (5) to less than (50) wt % solids content; collecting the solid particles; washing the solid particles with a washing agent to remove the excess acrylic dispersant; and removing the washing agent to form a powder having a mean volume average particle size from (10) to (300) m, a sphericity from (0.92) to (1.0), a particle size distribution from (1) to less than (2), a particle density from (98)% to (100)%, and a flow rate in a large funnel from (1) to (5) seconds.
WOVEN CARPET TILES AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
A carpet tile and process for making the same, wherein the carpet tile comprises a woven facecloth with an applied latex or hot-melt adhesive precoat, an extruded polymer backing layer, and an optional polyester cushion, comprising a reinforcing scrim layer within a polyester layer. The top surface and bottom surface of the carpet tile are defined by the facecloth and the polyester cushion or extruded layer, respectively. A polymer-based resin is extruded onto the pre-coat of the coated facecloth to form an at least substantially uniform backing layer, and the polyester cushion may be laid onto the extruded polymer backing layer while the extruded polymer backing layer remains above a softening temperature for the resin. The entire multi-layer web is then passed through a nip to embed the reinforcing scrim layer into the extruded polymer backing layer, and the entire web is chilled.
PLASTIC FILM SENSOR
A sensor for real time monitoring the quality of welding joints in the plastic film at the production of plastic bags on roll by measuring material changes in the welding joint is provided. The sensor comprises at least two electrode pairs arranged to measure changes in the dielectric properties of the material when the welding joint is passing through the measuring gap of the electrodes and provide a measuring signal proportional to the material change in the welding joint. The measuring signal is evaluated to detect defective welding joints in the plastic film. The electrodes are arranged so that one pair of the electrodes constitutes the signal measuring gap arranged for measuring the welding profile. The form of the measuring electrode conforms to the direction and form of the welding joint. The other pair of electrodes constitutes the reference measuring gap arranged to provide an averaged signal across the surface of the plastic film. The difference between the reference signal and the measuring signal then provides a signal which can be used for monitoring the welding quality.
