Insert cutting and weatherstrip manufacturing method
A weatherstrip manufacturing method is a method for manufacturing a weatherstrip which includes a trim portion where an insert is embedded. The insert includes short connecting portions that connect strips at substantially regular intervals, and a long connecting portion having a larger length than each length of the short connecting portions. The method includes an extrusion molding step for covering the insert with a polymer material, a cut-off portion forming step for cutting off a part of a long interval portion including the long connecting portion in the long interval portion where the long connecting portion is embedded to form a cut-off portion, and a cutting step for cutting the cut-off portion in a crossing direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction to divide the weatherstrip in the longitudinal direction.
HIGH SPEED CROSS-LINKING OF GRAFTED PLASTOMERS
The present invention discloses a process for providing a cross-linked composition, the process comprising the steps of (a) providing an ethylene-α-olefin plastomer having—a density of from 850 kg/m.sup.3 to 900 kg/m.sup.3; and—an melt flow rate (ISO 1133, 2.16 kg, 190° C.) of 0.3 to 50 g/10 min; (b) grafting the ethylene-α-olefin plastomer with silane crosslinker such that the content of silane crosslinker is in the range of 0.1 to 10.0 wt.-% with respect to the grafted ethylene-α-olefin plastomer; (c) contacting said grafted ethylene-α-olefin plastomer with 2 to 8 wt.-% of a tin-free silane crosslinking catalyst with respect to the resulting mixture of grafted ethylene-α-olefin plastomer and tin-freesilane crosslinking catalyst, wherein said tin-free catalyst comprises a Brönsted acid at 23° C. and 50% relative humidity for at least 15 minutes thus forming a cross-linked composition, wherein gel content of said cross-linked composition after 15 min is at least 60%.
THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER COMPOSITION AND THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER MOLDED BODY
A thermoplastic elastomer composition: 41 to 70 parts by mass of component (A), 0 to 54 parts by mass of component (B), and 5 to 59 parts by mass of component (C) ((A), (B), and (C) being 100 parts by mass), with dynamic heat treatment with a cross-linking agent. Component (A): a propylene block copolymer having a melt flow rate measured in accordance with ISO1133. Component (B): an ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated polyene copolymer including a structural unit derived from ethylene, a structural unit derived from an α-olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, and a structural unit derived from a non-conjugated polyene. Component (C): an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer including a structural unit derived from ethylene and a structural unit derived from an α-olefin having 4 to 20 carbon atoms and having a melt flow rate measured in accordance with ISO 1133.

The invention provides a polyolefin-based resin film formed from a polypropylene-based resin composition and containing, in a total of 100 parts by weight of the polypropylene-based resin composition, 20-95 parts by weight of a propylene-α olefin random copolymer containing a metallocene-based olefin polymerization catalyst; 0-75 parts by weight of a propylene-α olefin random copolymer containing a Ziegler-Natta-based olefin polymerization catalyst; and 5-15 parts by weight of at least one type of an elastomer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-butene copolymer elastomer, a propylene-butene copolymer elastomer, and an ethylene-propylene copolymer elastomer, wherein a heat shrinkage ratio in a direction in which a heat shrinkage ratio is larger among a longitudinal direction and a width direction of the polyolefin-based resin film is 1-10%, and an orientation coefficient ΔNx in an x-axis direction calculated from a refractive index of the polyolefin-based resin film is 0.0130-0.0250.

Polyolefin-based microporous films via sequential cold and hot stretching of unannealed polypropylene copolymer films
Microporous polymer films and methods of making same are disclosed. The microporous polymer film comprises: one or more polypropylene copolymer, said polypropylene copolymer comprising one or more polypropylene homopolymer chain segments and one or more ethylene-containing copolymer chain segments; wherein the microporous polymer film comprises: (i) polypropylene homopolymer chain segments in total amount of from 50-82 wt. %, based on the weight of the microporous polymer film; (ii) one or more ethylene-containing copolymer chain segments in total amount of from 18-50 wt. %, based on the weight of the microporous polymer film, wherein at least a portion of the ethylene-containing copolymer chain segments comprises polymerized units of ethylene in an amount of at least 45 wt. %, based on the weight of the ethylene-containing copolymer chain segments.
FLUOROPOLYMER STAMP FABRICATION METHOD
An imprint lithography stamp includes a stamp body having a patterned surface and formed from a fluorinated ethylene propylene copolymer. The imprint lithography stamp further includes a backing plate with a plurality of through-holes with portions of the stamp body extending into the through-holes to adhere the stamp body to the backing plate. The patterned surface of the stamp body has a plurality of protrusions extending from the stamp body, which are used to form high aspect ratio features at high processing temperatures. A mold design for forming the imprint lithography stamp and an injection molding process for forming the imprint lithography stamp are also provided.

A sealing device generally includes a rotatable support cylinder having an outer, circumferential surface and a heating element disposed about such surface and secured thereto such that the heating element rotates therewith.
