Method For Plasma Treating Substrates And For Bonding Plasma Treated Substrates
A method for plasma treating a surface of a first substrate is disclosed. The method may comprise generating a plasma flume using a plasma treatment device having a nozzle. The plasma flume may emanate through a flume aperture of the nozzle at an emanation angle of about 5 degrees or less. The emanation angle may be defined as an angle between a central axis of the nozzle and a central axis of the flume aperture. The method may further comprise plasma treating the surface of the first substrate with the plasma flume by scanning the plasma flume over the surface of the first substrate. The first substrate may be one of a consolidated thermoplastic material and a cured thermoset material.

LIGHTWEIGHT NOISE AND VIBRATION DAMPENING GLOVE BOX
A weight and noise reducing glovebox assembly made of an inner glovebox bin composed of a pair of thermopolymer fiber layers that work in concert to absorb noise and isolate noise and vibration providing a glovebox with improved NVH characteristics. The glovebox bin is formed of a three dimensionally chill formed structural layer composed of PET fiber to which is mated, preferably by needle tacking, an inner carpet layer also composed of PET fiber providing two stage noise, sound and vibration reduction. In a preferred embodiment, the inner PET fiber carpet layer is mated, preferably by needle tacking, to an outer structural moldable PET fiber substrate layer forming a two-stage sound, noise and vibration absorbing and isolating thermoformable blank that is chilled formed into a sound absorbing glovebox bin of one piece flip open construction that is lighter in weight and which has reduced sound and noise generation and transmission compared to conventional hard plastic gloveboxes.
Anti-agglomerants for polyisobutylene production
The invention relates to a method to reduce or prevent agglomeration of polyisobutylene particles in aqueous media by LCST compounds and highly pure isobutylenes obtained thereby. The invention further relates to polyisobutylene products comprising the same or derived therefrom.
Method for making a running board having an in-situ foam core
A plastic article is recited having a plastic shell including walls defining a cavity. Within the cavity is an in-situ foam core including expanded polymer beads. A layer of the expanded polymer beads includes a layer of distorted beads adjacent to the walls. The in-situ foam core has a thermal bond to the walls.
In-mould labelling process
There is disclosed an in-mould labelling process for the manufacture of a labelled article comprising the steps of: feeding a labelstock web into a mould; forming an article in the mould such that the formed article contacts and effectively adheres to a label of the labelstock web; detaching the adhered label from the labelstock web; and removing the formed and labelled article from the mould.
Plasticity induced bonding
Methods and apparatuses for bonding polymeric parts are disclosed. Specifically, in one embodiment, the polymeric parts are bonded by plastically deforming them against each other while they are below the glass transition temperatures.
