MOLDED PRODUCT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

A molded product formed of a plurality of portions containing 4-methyl-1-pentene polymers in contact with each other and to provide a method for producing the molded product. A molded product according to the present invention includes a composition containing a particular 4-methyl-1-pentene (co)polymer (A) having a melting point (Tm) measured by DSC of within the range of 200 to 250 C. and a particular 4-methyl-1-pentene copolymer (B) having no observed melting point (Tm) or having a melting point (Tm) of within the range of 100 to 199 C., the melting point (Tm) being measured by DSC, wherein a content of the (co)polymer (A) is 60 to 95 parts by mass of based on a total of 100 parts by mass of the (co)polymer (A) and the copolymer (B), and a portion (2) that contains the 4-methyl-1-pentene (co)polymer (A) and is formed in contact with the portion (1).

Anti-agglomerants for polyisobutylene production

The invention relates to a method to reduce or prevent agglomeration of polyisobutylene particles in aqueous media by LCST compounds and highly pure isobutylenes obtained thereby. The invention further relates to polyisobutylene products comprising the same or derived therefrom.

ANISOTROPIC THIN POLYETHYLENE SHEET AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF AND THE PROCESS OF MAKING THE SAME

This invention relates to an anisotropic multilayer film and the process of making a multilayer film, wherein a supercritical blowing agent is introduced to at least one layer, wherein at least one layer comprises 10 to 100 percent by weight LLDPE with a melt index of 0.2 to 2 g/10 min. The film in this invention can have a surface with an average Sheffield smoothness, according to TAPPI T 538, of less than 100. The film in this invention can have a puncture propagation tear resistance, in accordance with ASTM D2582, greater than 500 g/mil.

Automotive molded-in-color thermoplastic polyolefin with clear coating for paint replacement and high gloss applications

Molded-in-color thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) compositions useful for making automotive components, such as injection molded parts, as well as other articles of manufacture are described. The molded-in-color composition has a E* value2.0 (compared to a painted color master), a gloss measured at 60 from about 76 to about 90 GU, a density ranging from about 0.9 to about 0.97 g/cm.sup.3, a melt mass flow rate from about 15 to about 40 g/10 min (ASTM D 1238, 230 C./2.16 kg), a flexural modulus between about 600 to about 2000 MPa, and an as-molded shrinkage between about 0.6% and about 1.4%. The compositions can be used to prepare molded-in-color components that can undergo additional clear coating steps as required by the automotive application. The clear coated molded-in-color components have a gloss measured at 20 from about 85 to about 95 GU and a gloss retention after mar between about 85% and about 93%.

Method of Performing a Task in Registration With a Seal In Materials and Flexible Containers Made By Method

A method for performing a task in registration with a discrete seal in at least one material is described herein. The method involves simultaneously forming a discrete seal and a fiducial/eye mark in the at least one material. The method includes providing a detection device; providing a unit operation mechanism; and performing an operation on the material(s) in registration with the discrete seal. The task performed in registration with the discrete seal is based upon the location of the eye mark that was simultaneously formed with the discrete seal. A method of making flexible containers using cutting to form the outer periphery of the packages is described herein. Also described herein are flexible containers and container blanks made by such a method.

A method is described for making a retort container having one or two metal ends. A heat-sealable material is present on one or both of the container side wall and the/each metal end. The/each metal end is seamed onto the container body, and the resulting container assembly is conveyed on a conveyor adjacent to an induction sealing head and then adjacent to a cooling device. A pressure belt engages the upper end of the container assembly to keep the metal end from coming off the container body during the induction heating and cooling processes.
