Preform coating device
A preform coating device is provided with: a plurality of rotational holding parts that horizontally hold a preform; a conveyance part that conveys the preform by moving the plurality of rotational holding parts, the plurality of rotational holding parts being disposed at a predetermined interval along the conveyance route of the conveyance part; and a dispenser that discharges a coating liquid toward the preform. The dispenser has: a head including a mechanism for feeding the coating liquid; and a plurality of nozzles that are in fluid communication with the head and that each include a slot for discharging the coating liquid. The plurality of nozzles are disposed at a predetermined interval along the conveyance route. The interval between the plurality of nozzles is equal to the interval between the plurality of rotational holding parts.
Preform extended finish for processing light weight ecologically beneficial bottles
Disclosed are preforms which incorporate improvements in the region of the neck and upper segment of the body to allow the production of lightweight containers, such as bottles suitable for containing water or other beverages. In accordance with certain embodiments, the improvements include a thinner neck finish area than conventional bottles, where the thinner area is extended into the upper segment of the body portion below the support ring. Reducing the thickness in these areas of the bottle allows for less resin to be used in forming the preform and bottle.
FILM SECURING APPARATUS AND METHOD
Systems, apparatuses, and methods to secure a film to a container are provided. An example sealing device utilizes film from a supply of film to seal a lid onto a container. Various sizes of containers are usable with some example sealing devices. Additional features, such as printing on the film and piercing the film for ventilation and/or insertion of a straw are contemplated. One or more markings along the film may be utilized for confirming that an approved film has been loaded into the sealing device. In response, various components or features of the sealing device may be appropriately enabled or disabled. The one or more markings may also be utilized to convey data to the sealing device regarding the installed film, such as for improved operation thereof.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A MULTILAYERED COMPOSITE FILM, A MULTILAYERED COMPOSITE FILM AND ITS USE
The present patent application relates to a method of manufacturing a multilayered composite film comprising a step of co-extruding at least three layers (a), (b) and (c), of which the layer (a) forms an outward surface of the composite film; the layer (c) forms a surface of the composite film facing or coming in contact with a good to be packaged; and the layer (b) is disposed between the layer (a) and the layer (c). Further, the method includes a step of biaxial orientation of the composite film thus co-extruded. Therein, the layer (a) contains or consists of a thermoplastic resin. The layer (b) contains or consists of a polyvinylidene chloride (PVdC) resin. The layer (c) contains or consists of a resin, preferably sealable, in particular heat-sealable resin. Therein, any crosslinking of the composite film by means of radioactive radiation, in particular by means of beta, gamma, X-ray and/or electron irradiation, is omitted during the manufacturing of the composite film and/or thereafter.
PREFORM EXTENDED FINISH FOR PROCESSING LIGHT WEIGHT ECOLOGICALLY BENEFICIAL BOTTLES
An injection-molded preform for forming an 8 ounce PET container includes a neck portion configured to engage a closure and having a first wall thickness and an elongated body portion having an upper segment adjacent the neck portion and a lower segment adjacent an end cap. The upper segment has a second wall thickness substantially similar to the first wall thickness. The lower segment has a third wall thickness greater than the second wall thickness. The preform has a total weight less than 7 grams.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A MULTILAYER COMPOSITE FILM, MULTILAYER COMPOSITE FILM, AND USE THEREOF
A method of manufacturing a coextruded and/or laminated and biaxially oriented composite film and a resulting multilayered film which has improved processability and/or improved recyclability. For this purpose, the method and multilayered film provides a novel combination of the density of various layer components of the composite film and certain manufacturing parameters such as the stretching factors, relaxation factors, relaxation temperatures, and residual stretching factors.
