The present invention relates to a process for producing polymers in powder form by using laser energy. It relates also to polymers in powder form obtainable according to that process, and the use of those polymers in powder form in additive manufacturing.
Method for producing polyester film having furandicarboxylate unit
It is provided that a method for producing a biaxially oriented polyester film that can be used for industrial and packaging applications. A method for producing a biaxially oriented polyester film, comprising: a step of feeding a polyester resin into an extruder, a step of extruding the molten polyester resin from an extruder to obtain a molten resin sheet at 250 to 310° C., a step of attaching the molten resin sheet closely to a cooling roll by an electrostatic application method to obtain an unstretched sheet, and a step of biaxially stretching the unstretched sheet, wherein the polyester resin fulfills the following (A) to (C): (A) the polyester resin comprises a polyethylene furandicarboxylate resin composed of a furandicarboxylic acid and ethylene glycol; (B) an intrinsic viscosity of the polyester resin is 0.50 dL/g or more; (C) a melt specific resistance value at 250° C. of the polyester resin is 3.0×10.sup.7 Ω.Math.cm or less.
Method of manufacturing a particle foam part
The invention concerns a process and a device for producing a particle foam part. The method comprises the steps of feeding foam particles into a mould space of a mould, welding the foam particles in the mould space under application of a predetermined pressure, wherein the foam particles comprise a proportion of at least 10% by weight of recycled, shredded foam particles and the welding of the foam particles takes place by means of electromagnetic waves.
Polybutylene Terephthalate Composition and a Composite of Plastic/Metal Hybrid
The present invention relates to a polybutylene terephthalate composition, comprising as component (A) polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) resin, as component (B) polyester copolymer with melting point from 105° C. to 185° C., as component (C) vinyl-based polymer, and optionally as component (D) glass bubbles. The present invention also relates to a composite of plastic/metal hybrid, which comprises metal article and the polybutylene terephthalate composition of the present invention which is joined to and integrated with the metal article.
THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION, METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME, AND MOLDED ARTICLE INCLUDING THE SAME
A thermoplastic resin composition for automotive interior materials including 20% to 42% by weight of a polyester resin (A); 20% to 32% by weight of a vinyl cyanide compound-conjugated diene compound-aromatic vinyl compound graft copolymer (B); and 30% to 48% by weight of an aromatic vinyl compound-vinyl cyanide compound copolymer (C), a method of preparing the thermoplastic resin composition, and a molded article including the thermoplastic resin composition. The thermoplastic resin composition has excellent environmental stress cracking (ESC), processability, injection moldability, injection stability, and economics while maintaining mechanical properties, thermal stability, and friction noise resistance equal or superior to those of conventional heat-resistant ABS resin compositions.
Method for the manufacture of a plastic component, plastic component, midsole and shoe
The present invention relates to an enhanced method for the manufacture of a plastic component (135), in particular a cushioning element for sports apparel, the method comprising: opening a mold (100) by a predetermined amount into a loading position, wherein the mold comprises at least two mold parts (110, 112) and wherein the amount by which the mold is opened influences an available loading volume of the mold, loading a material comprising expanded particles (130) into the loading volume, closing the mold into a closed position, wherein during closing of the mold the mold parts are moved together over different distances (140) in different areas of the mold, compressing the expanded particles by closing the mold and fusing at least the surfaces of the expanded particles to mold the plastic component.
Preform extended finish for processing light weight ecologically beneficial bottles
Disclosed are preforms which incorporate improvements in the region of the neck and upper segment of the body to allow the production of lightweight containers, such as bottles suitable for containing water or other beverages. In accordance with certain embodiments, the improvements include a thinner neck finish area than conventional bottles, where the thinner area is extended into the upper segment of the body portion below the support ring. Reducing the thickness in these areas of the bottle allows for less resin to be used in forming the preform and bottle.
Polymer composition and article made from the same
The present application relates to a polymer composition comprising from 20 wt % to 30 wt % of a polycarbonate; from 40 wt % to 60 wt % of a polybutylene terephthalate; from 5 wt % to 30 wt % of a reinforcement fiber; from 1 wt % to 10 wt % of glass bubbles, and from 0.3 wt % to 2 wt % of transesterification inhibitor, all contents are based on the total weight of the composition. The polymer composition according to the present invention has improved adhesion to the metal (especially aluminum), even after annealing and anodizing processes are applied.
