Provided herein is a method of making a flexible partial denture, which may include: (a) producing a partial denture base by additive manufacturing (e.g., bottom-up or top-down stereolithography) from a dual cure resin, with the dual cure resin comprising a light polymerizable component and a heat polymerizable component, with the denture base including at least one tooth socket; (b) inserting an acrylic artificial tooth into each at least one tooth socket to produce an assembled intermediate product; and then (c) baking said assembled intermediate product for a time sufficient to cure said heat polymerizable component in said denture base and retained dual cure resin, bond said tooth into each at least one socket with said retained dual cure resin, and produce said flexible partial denture. A flexible partial denture produced and resin formulations useful for the same are also provided.

The invention relates to a vinyl aromatic/diene-block copolymer A, obtained by an anionic polymerization of a monomer composition, comprising: Al: 60-95 wt.-% of at least one vinyl aromatic monomer, and A2:5-40 wt.-% of at least one diene monomer, wherein the vinyl aromatic/diene-block copolymer A in total comprises less than 10 parts per million (ppm) of acetaldehyde, methacrolein and styrene based on the total amount of vinyl aromatic/diene-block copolymer A; the vinyl aromatic/diene-block copolymer A has improved orgnoleptic properties and is in particular suitable for producing food packaging materials.

Polymerizable liquids are described herein which, in some embodiments, can produce 3D printed articles of high resolution and desirable mechanical properties. In one aspect, a polymerizable liquid comprises an acrylate component, a polymeric additive, and a monomeric curing agent, wherein the acrylate component and monomeric curing agent are copolymerizable upon exposure to light. In being copolymerizable, the acrylate component and monomeric curing agent can form a copolymer. As described father herein, the monomeric curing agent can enable further reaction of the copolymer with one or more crosslinking species to link the copolymer with one more polymeric networks.

A method for producing a phase difference film is provided. The phase difference film includes an orientation layer formed of a resin C having a negative intrinsic birefringence value. The resin C contains a block copolymer having a block (A) including as a main component a polymerization unit A having a negative intrinsic birefringence value and a block (B) including as a main component a polymerization unit B, and a weight fraction of the block (A) therein being 50% by weight or more and 90% by weight or less. The phase difference film has an NZ factor of greater than 0 and smaller than 1. The method comprising: forming a single layer film of the resin C; and causing phase separation of the resin C in the film, which includes a step of applying to the film a stress along a thickness direction thereof.

An organic microgel system as support material for 3D printing of soft materials such as silicone and methods for manufacturing and using the organic microgel system are disclosed. In some embodiments, the organic microgel system comprises a plurality of microgel particles formed by blending a di-block copolymer and a tri-block copolymer in an organic solvent. The organic microgel system may allow high precision 3D printing of silicone objects with complex shapes.

Disclosed herein is a film comprising a polymer blend, the polymer blend comprising a first polyolefin elastomer having a weight average molecular weight of 120,000 to 350,000 grams per mole; and a second polyolefin elastomer having a weight average molecular weight of 15,000 to 75,000 grams per mole; wherein the overall melt index of the polymer blend is less than 8 g/10 minutes when measured as per ASTM D1238 at 2.16 kilograms at 190° C. Disclosed herein too is a method of manufacturing a film comprising blending a first polyolefin elastomer having a weight average molecular weight of 120,000 to 350,000 grams per mole; and a second polyolefin elastomer having a weight average molecular weight of 15,000 to 75,000 grams per mole to form a polymer blend; wherein the overall melt index of the polymer blend is less than 8 g/10 minutes when measured as per ASTM D1238 at 2.16 kilograms at 190° C.; and forming the polymer blend into a film.
