Control methods for additive manufacturing system
A method is disclosed for controlling an additive manufacturing system. The method may include causing a head to discharge composite material along a first trajectory, and activating a cure enhancer to at least partially cure composite material discharging from the head along the first trajectory. The method may also include selectively deactivating the cure enhancer as the head nears a corner location, moving the head to a second trajectory after the head reaches the corner location, and reactivating the cure enhancer after moving the head to the second trajectory.
Three-dimensional printing with reciprocal feeding of polymerizable liquid
Described herein are methods, systems and apparatus (including associated control methods, systems and apparatus), for the production of a three-dimensional object by “bottom up” additive manufacturing, in which a carrier is vertically reciprocated with respect to a build surface, to enhance or speed the refilling of the build region with a solidifiable liquid. In preferred (but not necessarily limiting) embodiments, the three-dimensional object is produced from a liquid interface by continuous liquid interface production (i.e., “CLIP”).
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUS COMPOSITE THREE-DIMENSIONAL PRINTING
A method and apparatus for the additive manufacturing of three-dimensional objects are disclosed. Two or more materials are extruded simultaneously as a composite, with at least one material in liquid form and at least one material in a solid continuous strand completely encased within the liquid material. A means of curing the liquid material after extrusion hardens the composite. A part is constructed using a series of extruded composite paths. The strand material within the composite contains specific chemical, mechanical, or electrical characteristics that instill the object with enhanced capabilities not possible with only one material.
SCALABLE AND FAST THREE DIMENSIONAL PRINTING SYSTEM
A three dimensional printing system includes a light engine having a spatial light modulator for curing individual layers of a photocure resin to form a three dimensional article of manufacture. The light engine is configured to: (1) receive a slice image that defines an array of energy values for curing a layer, (2) process the slice image to define an image frame compatible with the spatial light modulator, (3) receive an on signal, (4) activate the first light source in response to the on signal; (5) repeatedly send the first defined image frame to the first spatial light modulator during a defined cure time for the single layer of resin; (6) receive an off signal; (7) deactivate the first light source in response to the off signal; and (8) repeat steps (1) - (7) until the three dimensional article of manufacture is formed.

METHODS FOR PRODUCING THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECTS WITH APPARATUS HAVING FEED CHANNELS
A method of forming a three-dimensional object, wherein said three-dimensional object is an insert for use between a helmet and a human body, is described. The method may use a polymerizable liquid, or resin, useful for the production by additive manufacturing of a three-dimensional object, comprising a mixture of (i) a light polymerizable liquid first component, and (ii) a second solidifiable component that is different from said first component.
METHODS FOR PRODUCING THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECTS WITH APPARATUS HAVING FEED CHANNELS
A method of forming a three-dimensional object (e.g. comprised of polyurethane, polyurea, or copolymer thereof) is carried out by: (a) providing a carrier and an optically transparent member having a build surface, the carrier and the build surface defining a build region therebetween; (b) filling the build region with a polymerizable liquid, the polymerizable liquid comprising a mixture of: (i) a light polymerizable liquid first component, and (ii) a second solidifiable component that is different from the first component; (c) irradiating the build region with light through the optically transparent member to form a solid blocked polymer scaffold and advancing the carrier away from the build surface to form a three-dimensional intermediate having the same shape as, or a shape to be imparted to, the three-dimensional object, with the intermediate containing the second solidifiable component; and then (d) contacting the three-dimensional intermediate to water to form the three-dimensional object.
Apparatus and method for creating a pattern from a first fluid in a second fluid
A method and a device are described for creating a pattern (7) of a first fluid in a second fluid, the density of which is adapted, as a function of the viscosity thereof, to the density of the first fluid, and wherein the two fluids are immiscible or are miscible only with difficulty, said device comprising a storage container (1) for the first fluid and an injector which is connected to the storage container (1) and is associated with a positioning unit (5). In order to make it possible to create floating patterns (7) of a first fluid in a second fluid, in particular in the food sector for creating predefined floating patterns (7) in beverages, it is proposed that the injector forms a capillary (3) which is connected to the storage container (1) via a metering device (4) and the length of which corresponds at least to the maximum pattern depth in the second fluid, and that the outlet tip (9) of the capillary (3) is movable by way of the positioning unit (5) in the longitudinal direction of the capillary (3) and in at least one direction transverse thereto.
