Open-channel stiffener
An open-channel stiffener for stiffening a panel has a bonding flange for bonding the stiffener to the panel through a bondline formed between the bonding flange and the panel to form a stiffened panel. The open-channel stiffener has a cross-sectional shape that aligns, or substantially aligns, a shear center of the stiffener with a centroid of the stiffener and aligns the shear center proximate an edge of the bondline, and removes the need for a radius filler noodle. A plurality of perforations may be formed through the bonding flange to permit an adhesive to wick into the perforations and create a mechanical interlock between the bonding flange and the panel.
Plastic-metal hybrid component and method for producing same
The invention relates to a plastic-metal hybrid component and to a corresponding method for producing a plastic-metal hybrid component. The production method has the following steps: (i) providing a fiber composite semifinished product based on polyamide, at least one part of the surface of the semifinished product being made of a polymer composition which contains the following: a) 100 wt. % of a polyamide; and b) 0.5 to 20 wt. % of one or more adhesive additives of the formula (I); (ii) providing a metal main part; (iii) optionally pretreating the surface of the metal main part in order to produce functionalities; (iv) introducing the main metal part and the fiber composite semifinished product into a pressing tool and closing the tool; and (v) bonding the fiber composite semifinished product and the metal main part by means of a compression process under the effect of pressure and temperature.

METHOD FOR STIFFENING PLATES INTENDED FOR THE CREATION OF SHIP WALLS AND COMPRISING LAMINATED COMPOSITE MATERIALS, AND RESULTING PLATE
Disclosed is a method for stiffening plates for ship walls. At least one elongate profile member of laminated composite material and having a transverse cross-section of a predetermined shape over the length thereof is pre-manufactured, the profile member being rigid. Then, a panel including laminated composite materials at least on the surface of at least one of the two main surfaces thereof is used, and the at least one pre-manufactured profile member is assembled and attached together onto one of the main surfaces of the panel. The main surface of the panel receives the profile member including laminated composite material. The profile member has a transverse cross-section with three continuous portions: two flanges having substantially straight cross-sections and interconnected by a web. The flanges and the web in transverse cross-section are supported by separate planes, the plane of the web intersecting the two planes, supporting the flanges, at 90.
