A method for making a composite piece comprised of a metal part and a glass-fiber-reinforced plastic part, comprising: providing a metal part with a receiving cavity and a flow guiding channel, the flow guiding channel having an inlet communicating with the receiving cavity and an outlet; introducing molten plastic reinforced with glass fibers into the receiving cavity to fill the receiving cavity and the flow guiding channel and overflows from the outlet to form a flash section; curing the molten plastic to obtain a plastic part; removing unwanted portion of the metal part together with a portion of the plastic part to obtain the composite piece, wherein the glass-fiber-reinforced plastic part includes an exposed surface and glass fibers exposed at the exposed surface are substantially parallel to each other. A metal-plastic composite part prepared by the method and an electronic device housing are also disclosed.
INDUCTION WELDING OF THERMOPLASTIC WITH METALLIC STRIPS
Methods and apparatus' for induction welding a first workpiece to a second workpiece at a welding region may include a metallic strip. The metallic strip may be a mesh. The properties of the metallic strip, such as, for example, pore size, thickness, and density, may be configured to conduct heat uniformly across the welding region and prevent eddy current formation across a workpiece. The metallic strip may be embedded in a workpiece or may be fixed to an induction welding tool that acts on the welding region during induction welding. A removable polymer tape may be disposed between a workpiece and a metallic strip fixed to an induction welding tool. The workpieces may be thermoplastic composite structures and thermoplastic composite stiffeners in aircraft structures.

Laminated parts containing a slip resistant and water resistant outer layer and methods for their production
Laminated parts are described that include a core, a fiber layer arranged on each side of the core and impregnated with a polyurethane resin, and an outer layer that at least partially coats at least one of the polyurethane impregnated fiber layers, in which the outer layer is the cured reaction product of a reaction mixture that includes: (1) a polyisocyanate, (2) a polyether polyol having a molecular weight of 800 Da to 25,000 Da and a functionality of 2 to 8, and (3) a fatty acid ester having isocyanate-reactive functionality. Methods of producing such laminated parts are also described.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AN LFT EXTRUSION MEMBER
An extruder and a long fiber thermoplastic (LFT) extrusion member manufactured thereby, and the extruder uses the LFT as a raw material to produce LFT extrusion members such as LFT sheets, pipes and profiles by a continuous extrusion molding process. The structural improvement of the extruder screw, including the screw body having three different thread groove deep sections, in sequence, a feed section, a compression section and a metering section, so that the LFT extrusion member produced by the extruder has high strength, high stiffness, high dimensional stability, low warpage and resistance to creep.
Method for producing a component, in particular for a motor vehicle, and component
A method for producing a component includes incorporating a molding compound into a tool for producing the component, where the molding compound includes an artificial resin as a matrix and a filler material embedded in the matrix. The method includes compressing the molding compound by the tool and by the compressing forming the molding compound to a green product. The method further includes providing the green product while disposed in the tool with a layer in a sub-region by incorporating a liquid material for producing the layer into the tool and applying the liquid material to the sub-region. The liquid material is a metallic material and the layer is an electromagnetic shielding on the green product.
