Surface protection film fabrication method and fabrication apparatus and surface protection film
A method is provided for fabricating a surface protection film that has no rolling defects such as blocking or wrinkling when rolled into a roll, and that, after the film is bonded to an adherend, is rolled into a roll, and stored for long periods of time, does not transfer unevenness or fisheyes on the back surface to the adherend. The surface protection film is fabricated as an elastomer by setting the arithmetical mean roughness (Ra) of the surface of a cold roller (4) to no more than 0.2 m, and the ten point mean roughness (Rz) of the surface of a nip roller (3) to 2-8 m and the mean distance (Sm) between protrusions and depressions thereof to no more than 90 m.
Elastomeric horseshoe and method of making same
A horseshoe for attaching a non-metallic horseshoe to a horse's hoof using an adhesive is described. In one example, the horseshoe includes a first layer composed of an elastomeric material, which forms a body of the horseshoe. The first layer may extend longitudinally from a ground-facing surface of the horseshoe to a portion of the hoof-facing surface of the horseshoe. A second layer is embedded at least partially in and on the first layer. The second layer forms at least a portion of the hoof-facing surface of the horseshoe. The second layer may include an acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) material, a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material, and/or an aluminum powder. Also described is a method of making the elastomeric horseshoe.
NANO COMPOSITIONS OF PHOTO-CURABLE RESINS AND ASSOCIATED METHOD FOR THE CREATION OF MOLDING MATRICES FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF CERAMIC PRODUCTS, IN PARTICULAR TILES
A photocurable composition and associated method for producing polymer coatings on a metal substrate like molding matrices for ceramic products, wherein the photocurable composition includes at least one (meth)acrylate, inorganic nanoparticles, at least one free-radical photo initiator, and at least one amine synergist; wherein the photocurable composition is deposited on a metal substrate, forming a coating layer with a prefixed three-dimensional texture, before photo-polymerizing it using UV/VIS radiation.
Use of recycled packaging in polymer composite products
A polymer composite and its method of manufacture using a recycled multilayer material. An example of the recycled multilayer material is comprised of a polyethylene/polyethylene terephthalate/aluminum film or polyethylene/nylon/aluminum film that may be extruded with organic filler to obtain desirable performance in wood-substitute products such as deck boards, railing, fencing, pergolas, residential cladding/siding, sheet products, and other applications.

Vehicle door handle apparatus and two-shot injection molding process for producing components with a metallic surface finish
A vehicle door handle apparatus is disclosed that generally includes a structural core and an outer layer. The structural core has an outer surface, a base portion, and a handle portion that extends from the base portion. The outer layer extends about and covers the outer surface of at least the handle portion of the structural core. The structural core is made of a first material that contains an engineering thermoplastic and glass fibers for reinforcement. The outer layer is made of a second material that contains the engineering thermoplastic and a milled material to give the outer layer a metallic surface finish. Non-limiting examples of the engineering thermoplastic are polyoxymethylene and polybutylene terephthalate. A method is also disclosed for producing an injection molded component having a metallic surface finish such as the disclosed vehicle door handle apparatus.
Mold base material, production method for mold base material, mold production method, and mold
A mold base of an embodiment is a mold base for use in manufacture of a mold that has a porous alumina layer over its surface, including: a base; and an aluminum alloy layer provided on the base, wherein the aluminum alloy layer contains aluminum, a non-aluminum metal element, and nitrogen. The aluminum alloy layer of the mold base of an embodiment of the present invention has high specularity.
ORIENTED THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE DIELECTRIC FILM
An oriented film includes an orientated semi-aromatic polyester layer and a thermally conductive filler dispersed in the orientated semi-aromatic polyester layer. The thermally conductive filler is at least 20% wt. of the oriented film.
Persistent vortex generating high regression rate solid fuel grain for a hybrid rocket engine and method for manufacturing same
An additively manufactured solid fuel grain for a hybrid rocket engine having a cylindrical shape, defining a center combustion port and comprising a stack of fused layers of polymeric material suitable for hybrid rocket fuel. Each layer is formed as a plurality of fused abutting concentric beads of solidified material arrayed around the center port. An oxidizer is introduced into the solid fuel grain through the center port, with combustion occurring along the exposed surface area of the solid fuel grain center port wall. Each concentric bead possesses a surface pattern that increases the combustion surface area and when stacked forms a rifling pattern of undulations that induces oxidizer-fuel gas axial flow to improve combustion efficiency. The port wall surface pattern persists during the rocket engine's operation as the fuel phase changes from solid to gas and is ablated.
THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE SHEET
A heat-conductive sheet comprising: a matrix formed of polyorganosiloxane; a material to increase hardness in low temperatures, the material having at least either one of an alkyl group having 10 or more carbon atoms and a dimethylsiloxane structure and also having a melting point of 60 C. to 23 C., thereby increasing a type OO hardness of the heat-conductive sheet, as specified in ASTM D2240, in a case where the heat-conductive sheet is cooled from room temperature to a temperature lower than room temperature; and a heat-conductive filler, the heat-conductive sheet having a type OO hardness of 50 or less at 25 C.
