INDUCTION WELDING USING A HEAT SINK AND/OR COOLING
A method of induction welding a first thermoplastic composite (TPC) to a second thermoplastic composite (TPC) using an induction coil includes forming a weld interface area between the first TPC and the second TPC, cooling the first TPC with a cooling apparatus before heating by the induction coil, and inductively heating the weld interface area with the induction coil after cooling the first TPC.
INDUCTION WELDING USING A HEAT SINK AND/OR COOLING
A heat sink for use in induction welding includes a flexible backing and a number of tiles disposed on the flexible backing in a single layer, wherein the tiles are electrically non-conductive and thermally conductive.
BEAMED ELASTIC LAMINATE PROPERTIES
The present disclosure relates to one or a combination of an absorbent article's chassis, inner leg cuffs, outer leg cuffs, ear panels, side panels, waistbands, and belts that may comprise one or more pluralities of tightly spaced (less than 4 mm, less than 3 mm, less than 2 mm, and less than 1 mm) and/or low Average-Dtex (less than 300, less than 200, less than 100 dtex) and/or low Average-Pre-Strain (less than 300%, less than 200%, less than 100%) elastics to deliver low Pressure Under Strand (less than 1 psi according to the conditions defined by the Pressure-Under-Strand Test), while providing adequate Section-Modulus (between about 2 gf/mm and 15 gf/mm) to make the article easy to apply and to comfortably maintain the article in place on the wearer, even with a loaded core (holding at least 100 mls of liquid), to provide for the advantages described above. Further, the elastomeric laminates of the present disclosure outperform existing laminates currently used for disposable absorbent articles as it relates to one or more key parameters (including Percent Contact Area, 2-98% Height Value, Pressure-Under-Strand, Air Permeability, Water Vapor Transmission Rate, Caliper, Caliper Retention Value, Cantilever Bending, Open Area, Section-Modulus, Rugosity Wavelength, Rugosity Frequency, Graphic Distortion Ratio).
Methods and apparatus for thermoplastic welding
An apparatus for thermoplastic welding includes at least one tool configured to support first and second thermoplastic composite parts in a first welding position having one or more joint lines between the first and second thermoplastic composite parts. The tool includes a plurality of induction coils. The apparatus further includes a susceptor removably positioned along the one or more joint lines. The susceptor is configured to heat the one or more joint lines when exposed to a magnetic flux generated by the plurality of induction coils to bond the first and second thermoplastic composite parts along the one or more joint lines. The apparatus also includes a susceptor removal device coupled to the susceptor and configured to remove the susceptor during bonding of the first and second thermoplastic composite parts.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
Absorbent article comprising a layered structure with an absorbent material sandwiched between at least two layers of said layered structure, such as for example a diaper, and at least one elongate tab. Each elongate tab comprises an attached portion by which the tab is permanently attached to at least one layer of the layered structure and a fastening portion with hooks provided for releasably engaging a landing zone on the absorbent article. At least the attached portion and the fastening portion of each tab are made of a predetermined material which is deformable by means of an energy source. The attached portion comprises a weld, and the weld of the attached portion and the hooks of the fastening portion are integrally formed deformations of said predetermined material. Method for manufacturing such article, wherein the weld and the hooks are formed simultaneously.
Thermoformed part comprising a detachable part and a process for manufacturing such a part
The invention relates to a workpiece having a shape produced by thermoforming from at least one sheet (3) of plastic material, such as polycarbonate, and at least one applied element (6, 8; 7, 9) that is applied to the at least one sheet and secured there, characterised in that the securing of the at least one applied element to the at least one sheet takes place at least partially by means of crimping.
Sporting goods and methods for interconnecting components of a sporting good
The present invention relates to a method for interconnecting components of a sporting good, in particular a sports shoe, and a sports shoe manufactured with such a method. The method may include (a.) forming a pattern element having at least one removable at least partially non-transparent or non-reflective portion, (b.) irradiating at least one of the first and the second component via the pattern element with heat radiation and (c.) interconnecting the irradiated first and second component.
DISPOSABLE WEARABLE ARTICLE
A disposable wearable article includes an elastic film stretchable structure in which an elastic film is laminated between a first sheet layer and a second sheet layer. The first sheet layer and the second sheet layer are bonded to each other through holes passing through the elastic film with many bonded portions arranged at intervals. A region having the elastic film stretchable structure includes a stretchable region that elastically stretches and contracts together with the elastic film. The stretchable region includes a plurality of elastic films disposed so as to have an overlapping portion. The number of laminated layers of the elastic film in a region located in an intermediate portion of the stretchable region in an orthogonal direction (XD) orthogonal to a stretchable direction (ED) is different from that in each of second regions adjacent to both sides of the first region.
MULTI-COMPONENT MELT ELECTROMAGNETIC EFFECT PROTECTION CAP SYSTEM
A protection cap assembly for enclosing an end portion of a fastener which extends through a structure of an aircraft includes a cap member having a sidewall defining an opening and an interior space wherein the opening is aligned with the interior space for receiving the end portion of the fastener through the opening and into the interior space and an end surface for abutting the structure. The protection cap assembly further includes a projection secured to and which extends from the end surface of the sidewall of the cap member.
