APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR MAKING ABSORBENT ARTICLES WITH ELASTOMERIC LAMINATES
The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses for making elastomeric laminates with deactivated regions that may be used as components of absorbent articles. The methods and apparatuses may be configured with a pattern roll and a pressing surface adjacent the pattern roll. The pattern roll may include a bonding surface and a protuberance. As the pattern roll rotates, first and second substrates are welded together between the bonding surface and the pressing surface to create bonds between the first and second substrates. As the pattern roll continues to rotate, the first and second substrates and one or more stretched elastic strands are compressed between the pressing surface and the protuberance to sever the one or more stretched elastic strands to create deactivated regions in the elastomeric laminate. The processes and apparatuses may be configured to help prevent ends of the severed elastic strands from retracting in an uncontrolled fashion.
ARRANGEMENT FOR SUPPLYING A SEMI-FINISHED PRODUCT TO A THERMOFORMING MACHINE, THERMOFORMING ARRANGEMENT, AND METHOD
The invention relates to an arrangement for supplying a semi-finished product to a thermoforming machine as a starting material for thermoforming. The arrangement has a deposition device on which cuttings of the starting material which are to be processed in succession can be provided, in each case in an at least partially automated manner, and a movable loading unit. This loading unit is set up for at least one of the cuttings to be received on the loading unit. The loading unit can be positioned to receive the cutting from the deposition device, and the loading unit can subsequently be positioned to deposit the cutting received from the deposition device in a working region of the thermoforming machine. The invention further relates to a thermoforming arrangement and to a method for supplying a semi-finished product to a thermoforming machine as a starting material for thermoforming.
Manufacturing method for high pressure tank
A manufacturing method for a high pressure tank, includes preparing a liner, and forming a helical layer by helical-winding fiber bundles around the liner, wherein a plurality of layers included in the helical layer include: base turnback layers formed by winding the fiber bundles while a base section of each of caps projecting outward of the liner is used as a winding turnback position where the fiber bundles are turned back in the axial direction; and distant turnback layers formed by winding the fiber bundles while a distant position distant from each base section is used as the winding turnback position, and in the distant turnback layers, the helical-winding is performed such that gaps are generated between adjacent fiber bundles of the fiber bundles.
Induction welding using a heat sink and/or cooling
A method of induction welding a first thermoplastic composite (TPC) to a second thermoplastic composite (TPC) using an induction coil includes forming a weld interface area between the first TPC and the second TPC, cooling the first TPC with a cooling apparatus before heating by the induction coil, and inductively heating the weld interface area with the induction coil after cooling the first TPC.
ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED SEPTA FOR ACOUSTIC PANELS
Systems and methods are provided for septa for acoustic cells. One embodiment is a method that includes fabricating a septum of a cell of an acoustic panel, by heating a material into a molten material, depositing the molten material to form a lower chamber of the septum that extends vertically upwards and includes an entry, iteratively depositing layers of the molten material, each layer comprising a filament at the entry that includes overhangs with respect to vertically adjacent layers, and forming openings at locations of the overhangs.
Method for manufacturing liquid-containing container
A liquid container manufacturing method includes: a liquid blow molding step of molding a preform into a liquid container; and a headspace formation step of forming a headspace, by discharging, in a state in which a liquid supply path is closed, a liquid out of the liquid container through a discharge port, the discharge accomplished by drawing-in by a liquid drawing source. In the headspace formation step, a pressurized gas is supplied from a pressurized gas supply source into the liquid container through a gas supply port to thereby assist the discharge, by the drawing-in, of the liquid out of the liquid container through the discharge port, and, when a pressure in a discharge path has increased to a set value, the supply of the pressurized gas by the pressurized gas supply source is stopped.
LAMINATE(S) COMPRISING BEAMED ELASTICS AND ABSORBENT ARTICLE(S) COMPRISING SAID LAMINATE(S)
The present disclosure relates to one or a combination of an absorbent article's chassis, inner leg cuffs, outer leg cuffs, ear panels, side panels, waistbands, and belts that may comprise one or more pluralities of tightly spaced (less than 4 mm, less than 3 mm, less than 2 mm, and less than 1 mm) and/or very fine (less than 300, less than 200, less than 100 dtex) and/or low strain (less than 300%, less than 200%, less than 100%) elastics to deliver low pressure less than 1 psi (according to the conditions defined by the Pressure-Under-Strand method below) under the elastics, while providing adequate modulus of (between about 2 gf/mm and 15 gf/mm) to make the article easy to apply and to comfortably maintain the article in place on the wearer, even with a loaded core (holding at least 50 mls of liquid), to provide for the advantages described above.
Methods and apparatuses for making elastomeric laminates with elastic strands provided with a spin finish
The present disclosure relates to methods for making elastomeric laminates that may be used as components of absorbent articles. The elastomeric laminates may include a first substrate, a second substrate, and an elastic material located between the first and second substrates. During assembly of an elastomeric laminate, a beam is rotated to unwind the elastic strands from the beam, wherein the strands may include a spin finish. First bonds are applied to bond discrete lengths of the stretched elastic strands with and between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the discrete first bonds are arranged intermittently along the machine direction. In addition, second bonds are applied between consecutive first bonds to bond the first and second substrates directly to each other, wherein the second bonds extend in the machine direction and may be separated from each other in a cross direction by at least one elastic strand.
