In many embodiments, the outer seat material is vinyl and the magnetic wire is an iron/chromium wire.

WIRE ANCHORING FOR CO-EXTRUDED PRINTING

Methods and apparatus for embedding metallic wires within polymer structures through co-extrusion printing in large-format polymer additive manufacturing (LFPAM). The method includes receiving user input for object and wire regions, performing Boolean operations on the meshes, generating printing paths, and determining an optimized order for printing. The LFPAM tool, configured with a data processing apparatus, prints the object with embedded wire and anchors supporting the wire ends. The system may include the use of a cutting tool to separate the anchors from the printed object. This disclosure improves wire alignment, support, and printing performance, enhancing the properties of wire-embedded printed structures.

Metal-containing polymeric reinforced pipe, method for manufacturing same and pipeline produced using said pipe
09857018 · 2018-01-02 ·

The polymeric pipes reinforced with a metal casing are used for transporting oil and gas, acids, alkali products, drinking water and industrial water, and also in the transportation of aggressive and neutral pulps. A metal-containing polymeric reinforced pipe includes a welded metal casing and a polymeric matrix having an amorphous-phase-based molecular structure. The metal-containing polymeric reinforced pipe is produced by extrusion moulding with simultaneous feeding of a polymer melt and the reinforcing metal casing into the mould cavity, followed by intensive cooling of the internal and external surfaces of the pipe being moulded. The invention increases the quality and endurance limit in the radial direction of the metal-containing polymeric reinforced pipe, productivity of the process for manufacturing the pipe, and also the strength and technological effectiveness of a pipeline constructed from the pipes produced.

Method for preparing a composite of metal and resin

It is an object of the present invention to securely and integrally join a metal and a resin, more particularly, a shaped titanium alloy substrate and a resin composition. A titanium alloy substrate is used that has undergone surface roughening by chemical etching or the like so as to have a ultrafine textured face in which bent, ridge-like protrusions having a width and height of from ten to a few hundred nanometers and a length of from a few to a few hundred microns rise up on the surface at a spacing period of from ten to a few hundred nanometers. A titanium alloy piece 1 with its surface treated is inserted into the cavity of a metallic mold for injection molding 10 and a specific resin composition 4 is injected to obtain an integrated composite 7. The main resin component of the resin composition 4 that is used can be a polyphenylene sulfide resin (PPS) or a polybutylene terephthalate resin (PBT). High injection joining strength is obtained if the resin composition contains, as an auxiliary component, a polyethylene terephthalate resin and/or polyolefin resin in the case of PBT and a polyolefin resin in the case of PPS.
