KNIT TEXTILES AND UPPERS, AND PROCESSES FOR MAKING THE SAME

Articles of wear having one or more textiles that include a low processing temperature polymeric composition and a high processing temperature polymeric composition, and methods of manufacturing the same are disclosed. The low processing temperature polymeric composition and the high processing temperature polymeric composition can be selectively incorporated into a textile to provide one or more structural properties and/or other advantageous properties to the article. The textile can be thermoformed to impart such structural and/or other advantageous properties to the article of wear. ACOUSTIC METAMATERIAL AND METHOD FOR THE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING THEREOF

Embodiments of the present invention relates to an acoustic metamaterial, as well as to a method for manufacturing the same. The acoustic metamaterial includes a plurality of channels or columns each having the same cross-section with a hydraulic radius between 5 and 300 ?m, which channels or columns are arranged with a periodic spacing between 2 and 600 ?m. This results in a highly dense network that can provide optimal acoustic absorption and/or impedance over a wide frequency range. The method for manufacturing the same includes additive manufacturing with a plurality of consecutive material deposition steps to form, in each step, a layer comprising a plurality of periodically repeated cells separated by walls. The layers deposited in the consecutive material deposition steps are stacked with their respective cells aligned to form channels.

Isolation device in a heating and sealing system

A protective packaging formation device is disclosed herein. The protective packaging formation device can include an inflation assembly having a fluid conduit that directs fluid between first and second overlapping plies of a web material and a sealing mechanism. The sealing mechanism can include a heating zone of the sealing mechanism operable to heat the plies to create a longitudinal heat seal that seals the first and second plies together as the web is driven over the heating zone in a downstream direction. The sealing mechanism can also include a pinch zone that overlaps longitudinally with the heating zone. The pinch zone defined by an isolation element that applies a first pressure to the web material along a first region. The pinch zone is also defined by a support structure and a compression element that applies a second pressure to the web material there-between along a second region transverse to the first region.
