Vinyl alcohol ophthalmic lens molds, ophthalmic lenses molded therein, and related methods
Ophthalmic lens molds made from at least one vinyl alcohol copolymers with high amorphous content, ophthalmic lenses including silicone hydrogel contact lenses formed using these molds, packaged ophthalmic lenses present in a solution comprising the at least one vinyl alcohol copolymer with high amorphous content, and related methods are described. The methods of manufacturing ophthalmic lenses can use wet demolding, delensing or demolding and delensing processes involving dissolving the molds in water or an aqueous solution.
Sacrificial Templates Comprising a Hydrogel Cross-linking Agent and Their Use for Customization of Hydrogel Architecture
Described herein are sacrificial templates generated from water soluble thermoplastic-divalent cation-composite materials, such as poly(vinyl alcohol)-calcium. Also described herein are methods for the use of such sacrificial templates in casting of precise internal space microarchitectures within hydrogels, such as microchannel networks within alginate hydrogels.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OF COMPOSITE STRUCTURES
A method, system, and apparatus are provided for creating complex-geometry composite parts with dissolvable internal support structures. Methods include: forming a core from a dissolvable material; layering composite material layers over the core; curing the composite material layers; and dissolving the core to leave cured composite layers of the composite part. Forming the core from the dissolvable material may include using three-dimensional printing to form the core. The dissolvable material may include polyvinyl alcohol. The core can include a channel formed therein, where layering composite material layers includes layering composite material layers within the channel of the core.
Simulated Surgical System, Simulated Vessel, and Methods of Making the Same and Related Components
Simulated anatomical components, such as simulated vascular vessels, and systems including the same. Such a system includes a housing, a simulated anatomical component inside the housing, and a simulated anatomical abnormality within a passage of the simulated anatomical component, the simulated anatomical abnormality formed as a material of an anatomical mold used to form the simulated anatomical component that has been partially removed to form the passage.
Ophthalmic device molds formed from highly amorphous vinyl alcohol polymer, ophthalmic devices molded therein, and related methods
Ophthalmic device molds made from at least one highly amorphous vinyl alcohol polymer, ophthalmic devices such as ocular inserts and contact lenses and including silicone hydrogel devices formed using these molds, and related methods are described. The methods of manufacturing ophthalmic devices can use dry or wet demolding processes, or dry or wet delensing processes.
Ophthalmic device molds formed from vinyl alcohol copolymer, ophthalmic devices molded therein, and related methods
Ophthalmic device molds made from at least one vinyl alcohol copolymer and having a static sessile drop contact angle of less than 70 degrees, ophthalmic devices such as ocular inserts and contact lenses and including silicone hydrogel devices formed using these molds, and related methods are described. The methods of manufacturing ophthalmic devices can use dry or wet demolding processes, or dry or wet delensing processes.
SUPPORT MATERIAL FOR LAMINATE SHAPING, PRODUCT LAMINATE-SHAPED BY USING THE SAME, AND LAMINATE-SHAPED PRODUCT PRODUCTION METHOD
A laminate-shaping support material includes one of: a resin composition containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin having a primary hydroxyl group at its side chain, and having a heat of fusion of 10 to 30 J/g at its melting point (Embodiment (X)); and a resin composition containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin, and a block copolymer including a polymer block of an aromatic vinyl compound, at least one of a polymer block of a conjugated diene compound and a block of a hydrogenated conjugated diene compound, and a functional group reactive with a hydroxyl group (Embodiment (Y)). Therefore, the laminate shaping support material according to Embodiment (X), for example, is excellent in shape stability and adhesiveness to a model material. The laminate shaping support material according to Embodiment (Y) is excellent in peelability and forming stability.
3D PRINTED ARTIFICIAL BILE DUCTS AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
The present invention relates to an artificial bile duct comprising ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), and due to comprising UDCA, the artificial bile duct of the present invention is effective in improving differentiation into cholangiocytes and preventing formation of bile stones.
Ophthalmic Device Molds Formed From Water-Soluble Vinyl Alcohol Copolymer, Ophthalmic Devices Molded Therein, And Related Methods
Ophthalmic device molds made from at least one water-soluble vinyl alcohol copolymer, ophthalmic devices such as ocular inserts and contact lenses and including silicone hydrogel devices formed using these molds, packaged ophthalmic devices present in a solution comprising the at least one water-soluble vinyl alcohol copolymer, and related methods are described. The methods of manufacturing ophthalmic devices can use wet demolding processes, or wet delensing processes or both wet demolding and wet delensing processes involving dissolving the molds in water or an aqueous solution.
