Mold and method for manufacturing the same
A method for manufacturing a mold according to the first aspect of the present invention includes the steps of: placing a base material of semiconductor or metal that reacts with sulfur hexafluoride in a reactive ion etching apparatus; supplying a mixed gas of sulfur hexafluoride and oxygen thereto; making the base material undergo a plasma dry-etching process such that oxides are scattered on a surface of the base material, etching advances on the surface of the base material while the oxides function as etching masks, and thereby a fine surface roughness is formed on the surface of the base material; and irradiating the fine surface roughness with an ion beam such that shapes of protrusions of the fine surface roughness can be adjusted.
Flexible manufacture of polymeric tubing including flow-altering structures
Tubular polymeric structures are formed by creating a convex mold conforming to a fluid pathway design, depositing a coating of polymer over the mold, and in situ removing the mold without drawing it against the polymer. The resulting structures are fabricated with flow-altering features.
Optical tape embosser drum with shim identification
A method is provided for making stamper plates for an embossing drum for embossing tape media. At least one first stamper plate is formed using a master template. The at least one first stamper plate includes first land and groove patterns that are an inverse of the master template land and groove patterns. At least one second stamper plate is formed from the at least one first stamper plate. The at least one second stamper plate includes second land and groove patterns that are an inverse of the first land and groove patterns. Furthermore, the first stamper plates and the second stamper plates have four sections arranged in a travel direction of the tape media, a first and a fourth of the four sections having land and groove patterns that are laterally mirrored with respect to each other. A first stamper plate is coupled to a second stamper plate to form part of the drum for embossing tape media.
Release webs and textured products
The present disclosure features processes and equipment for manufacturing materials that have a textured surface formed by applying a first texture to a curable coating, curing the coating, and then embossing a second, different texture over the first texture. The disclosure also features textured materials, including both release webs for use in replicative casting processes and finished products in sheet, board, plate or web form.
Thermal caulking device
The present invention provides a thermal caulking device which can quickly heat and cool an object to be caulked with low electrical power. Provided is a thermal caulking device which caulks a portion of a plastic part 7 as an object to be caulked, the thermal caulking device including: a metal tip 3 having a pressing part 3a which presses the object to be caulked and a heating rod 3c which is provided upright at a center part of the pressing part 3a; heating means 10c for heating the heating rod 3c; a cooling pipe 9 which cools the heating rod 3c; cooling fluid supply means 4 for supplying a cooling fluid to the cooling pipe 9; a holder 1 which holds the metal tip 3 and the cooling pipe 9 so that the cooling pipe 9 delivers the cooling fluid toward the heating rod 3c; and control means 6 for controlling the heating means 10c and the cooling fluid supply means 4, wherein the control means 6 heats the pressing part 3a from the heating rod 3c by the heating means 10c, and after the object to be caulked is thermally caulked by the pressing part 3a, supplies the cooling fluid from the cooling fluid supply means 4 to the cooling pipe 9 to cool the pressing part 3a from the heating rod 3c.

The present invention provides a thermal caulking device which can quickly heat and cool an object to be caulked with low electrical power. Provided is a thermal caulking device which caulks a portion of a plastic part 7 as an object to be caulked, the thermal caulking device including: a metal tip 3 having a pressing part 3a which presses the object to be caulked and a heating rod 3c which is provided upright at a center part of the pressing part 3a; heating means 10c for heating the heating rod 3c; a cooling pipe 9 which cools the heating rod 3c; cooling fluid supply means 4 for supplying a cooling fluid to the cooling pipe 9; a holder 1 which holds the metal tip 3 and the cooling pipe 9 so that the cooling pipe 9 delivers the cooling fluid toward the heating rod 3c; and control means 6 for controlling the heating means 10c and the cooling fluid supply means 4, wherein the control means 6 heats the pressing part 3a from the heating rod 3c by the heating means 10c, and after the object to be caulked is thermally caulked by the pressing part 3a, supplies the cooling fluid from the cooling fluid supply means 4 to the cooling pipe 9 to cool the pressing part 3a from the heating rod 3c.
Shape-Memory Alloy Molding Parts
A part for a mold is disclosed. The part includes a body formed of a shape-memory alloy. The body includes a first shape or first configuration at a first temperature and a second shape or second configuration at a second temperature. In one embodiment, the first shape includes at least one protrusion and the second shape is straight. A part of the present disclosure eliminates damage to a molded piece during removal of a molded piece from an injection mold by changing its shape in such a way that is suitable for part ejection.
Method, mold insert and injection mold for producing a plastics molding
Method for producing a plastic molded part (1), wherein, in the method, a mold insert (3) with a diffractive surface relief (32) is provided, the mold insert (3) is inserted into one mold half of an injection mold (5) which, together with at least one further mold half, forms a cavity for producing the plastic molded part (1), wherein the mold insert (3) is inserted into the injection mold (5) such that the diffractive surface relief (32) forms a partial area of the surface of the cavity formed by the mold half (5), and the plastic molded part (1) is molded by injection molding by means of the injection mold (5). The invention furthermore relates to a mold insert as well as an injection mold for such a method, as well as a plastic molded part produced in this way.
APPARATUS AND METHOD TO PRODUCE CLOSING SYSTEMS FOR CONTAINERS
An apparatus (10) and a method are described for producing a closing system (100) for containers comprising an anti-tampering strip (101) configured to be attached to an opening of a container, and a re-closable closing body (102), configured to hermetically close said containers. The apparatus (10) comprises a welding and deformation station (11) in which it is provided to weld a barrier element (108) to the re-closable closing body (102) and to fold a flexible annular portion (109) of the anti-tampering strip (101) back toward the inside of the closing system (100) while the latter is stationary in a same predetermined position in the welding and deformation station (11).

An apparatus (10) and a method are described for producing a closing system (100) for containers comprising an anti-tampering strip (101) configured to be attached to an opening of a container, and a re-closable closing body (102), configured to hermetically close said containers.
