An apparatus and method for making frozen food products from a fruit puree, i.e. a flowable banana meat or a flowable blend of fruit meat and other edible ingredients. A composition that includes peeled bananas and at least one antioxidant may be mixed in a mixing device at ambient temperature and under less than one atmosphere of pressure, forming the puree. The temperature of the puree is reduced to a semi-frozen state by passing the puree through a heat exchanger. The semi-frozen puree is then formed into food products with a pre-determined volume, shape, and weight by a molding or extrusion process. Sticks, if desired, may be inserted, and the shaped puree is then frozen to solidified cores. The solidified cores may be coated with chocolate and treated with other edible toppings and then packaged.

A method is provided for making stamper plates for an embossing drum for embossing tape media. The stamper plates include at least one first plate having first land and groove patterns and at least one second plate having second land and groove patterns that are an inverse of the first land and groove patterns. Furthermore, the first stamper plates and the second stamper plates have four sections arranged in a travel direction of the tape media, a first and a fourth of the four sections having land and groove patterns that are laterally mirrored with respect to each other.

A mold insert includes a base, a material of the base being a metal; a body disposed adjacent to the base along a first side of the body, a material of the body having a thermal conductivity between 0.05 and 5 W/m-K; and a working stamp disposed adjacent to the body along a second side of the body, the working stamp including a plurality of microstructures.

A film edge sealing device is disclosed herein which has a groove defining a base. The base of the groove of the edge sealing device is oriented at a skewed angle with respect to a longitudinal direction of the conveyor of the heat sealing machine. Edges of a thermoplastic sheet or two stacked layers of thermoplastic sheets are introduced into the groove of the edge sealing device and placed in contact therewith to both heat and melt the edges of the thermoplastic sheet(s) to form a bead and join the edges thereof to form an edge bead seal.

A film edge sealing device is disclosed herein which has a groove defining a base. The base of the groove of the edge sealing device is oriented at a skewed angle with respect to a longitudinal direction of the conveyor of the heat sealing machine. Edges of a thermoplastic sheet or two stacked layers of thermoplastic sheets are introduced into the groove of the edge sealing device and placed in contact therewith to both heat and melt the edges of the thermoplastic sheet(s) to form a bead and join the edges thereof to form an edge bead seal.

A mold having a first part with a carcass with a molding zone added thereto to provide a mechanical interface between the molding zone and the carcass. Inductors of the mold extend along a longitudinal direction in cavities between the mechanical interface and the molding zone. A cooling device of the mold extends at the mechanical interface between the molding zone and the carcass.

A method for sealing a fastener employs a mold which provided with an inlet port for molding material. The mold is then positioned over a fastener and the mold is sealed against a structure. A molding material is then injected into the mold. The mold is then removed to leave an in-situ molded cap formed over the fastener and sealed to the structure.

A method is provided for making an embossing drum that is useable to emboss tape media. The method includes assembling together multiple stamper plates that each have embossing features for embossing tape media, and the stamper plates include at least one first plate and at least one second plate. Furthermore, the embossing features of each first plate are inverted with respect to the embossing features of each second plate.

A method for manufacturing a golf ball having a core and a cover of at least one layer includes the step of molding the cover layer with a vertically separating two-part injection mold which has a spherical cavity and three or more support pins disposed so as to be capable of advancing and retracting in a direction perpendicular to a mold parting line, each support pin being housing in a pin housing hole having a nitrided inner peripheral sidewall. This method enables a golf ball cover material to be molded using an injection mold which, because a thick plating of hard chrome does not need to be applied to the inner peripheral sidewalls of the holes housing the support pins, is inexpensive and in which the pin housing holes have a good abrasion resistance.
