COPLANAR MODULAR PRINTBARS
In various examples, a printbar is formed from multiple modular fluid ejection subassemblies joined together through a molding process that provides for a continuous planar substrate surface. A mold may secure the modular fluid ejection subassemblies during a molding process in which a runner conveys a molding material to seams between the joined modular fluid ejection subassemblies.
Intraocular lens with elastic mask
Intraocular implants and methods of making intraocular implants are provided. The intraocular implant can include a lens body having a lens material and a mask having a mask material. The lens body can be secured to the mask. The mask material can include a modulus of elasticity that is greater than or equal to a modulus of elasticity of the lens material.
POLYESTER FILM AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
The present disclosure relates to a polyester film and a preparation method of the same. Since the polyester film includes a resin layer formed from a polyester resin including a first diol moiety derived from isosorbide and a second diol moiety derived from cyclohexanedimethanol in a controlled ratio on at least one surface of a base layer, it is possible to exhibit excellent heat resistance and adhesion.
METHOD FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING WITH PARTIAL CURING
A method of additive manufacturing (AM) includes dispensing a first building material formulation to form an outer region, and dispensing a second building material formulation to form an inner region, the outer region surrounding the inner region, the inner and outer regions being shaped to form a layer of the object; exposing the layer to a first curing condition, repeating the dispensing and the exposing to sequentially form a plurality of layers of the object and collectively exposing the plurality of layers to a second curing condition. The selections are such that the first building material formulation is hardened to a higher degree than the second building formulation. The outer regions form a hardened coating that at least partially encapsulates the inner regions. The second curing condition is other than the first curing condition and is selected to increase the degree that the inner region is hardened.
HIGH-STRENGTH LOW-HEAT RELEASE COMPONENTS INCLUDING A RESIN LAYER HAVING SP2 CARBON-CONTAINING MATERIAL THEREIN
Embodiments disclosed herein relate to composite laminate structures including a polymer layer having sp.sup.2 carbon-containing material and improved heat release properties, and methods of making the same.
INJECTION-MOLDABLE AERATOR MIXING ROD AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF
An aerator mixing rod includes a body having a first and second opposite ends and an outer surface extending between the ends. The body defines a longitudinal axis extending through the ends. The aerator mixing rod also includes teeth extending radially outward from the outer surface, with a first row of teeth and a second row of teeth spaced from the first row along the longitudinal axis. A first passageway is formed between adjacent teeth of the first row, and a second passageway is formed between adjacent teeth of the second row. The first passageway is at least partially misaligned with the second passageway in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis such that the first passageway and the second passageway form a tortuous path for fluid flowing along the outer surface of the body. The aerator mixing rod is formed from an injection-moldable material by an injection molding process.
MOLD TOOL WITH ANISOTROPIC THERMAL PROPERTIES
One embodiment is an apparatus including a mold configured to manufacture a composite structure at a heated temperature. The mold includes a first mold tool configured to mold a first portion of the composite structure, wherein the first mold tool comprises a plurality of strands of a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic material, wherein the fiber-reinforced thermoplastic material comprises a thermoplastic embedded with a plurality of reinforcement fibers, wherein the plurality of reinforcement fibers is aligned within each strand of the plurality of strands; and an anisotropic thermal expansion property, wherein the anisotropic thermal expansion property is based on an orientation of the plurality of reinforcement fibers within the first mold tool; and a second mold tool configured to mold a second portion of the composite structure.
EXTRUDER AND MOLDING ASSEMBLY
A method of filling a mold comprising filling a majority of a mold cavity with an extrudate from at least one extruder wherein the extrudate, which is conveyed to an inlet of the mold, is at a pressure of 1-500 psi, subsequently isolating the mold cavity from a conduit which conveys the extrudate to the mold cavity, and subsequently using a pressurization member to fill a remainder of the mold cavity with additional extrudate, wherein the pressurization member excepts a pressure above 500 psi on the additional extrudate.
TRANSPARENT TOOLING FOR UV RADIATION CURABLE RUBBER
A mold, a molding apparatus, and a method for manufacturing articles or components is used to manufacture an article or component of the article that at least partially comprises an ultraviolet (UV) curable material. The mold and apparatus comprise at least one mold wall formed of a cyclic olefin copolymer, which is in contact with UV radiation curable material and allows the article or component of the article to be exposed to UV radiation for a period of time in order to provide for at least partial cure thereof.
A HEAT-SEALABLE PACKAGING FILM
A heat-sealable packaging film, comprising a base film mainly comprising polyethylene terephthalate, the base film forming a layer of the packaging film; and a heat seal layer mainly comprising an IPA-modified copolyester; wherein the heat seal layer has been extrusion coated on the base film so that the heat seal layer material forms an exterior, amorphous, and heat- sealable heat seal layer.
