Elastomer structure containing carbon nanotubes and method for producing the same
Provided are: an elastomer structure containing carbon nanotubes; and a method for producing the elastomer structure. In a CNT elastomer having a mesh shaped carbon nanotube aggregate on a surface layer thereof, the mesh shaped carbon nanotube aggregate can impart a shape-retaining property to the elastomer. Therefore, the elastomer can be molded along the shape of a mold, and it becomes possible to mold a carbon nanotube elastomer having a fine dimension. The elastomer structure containing carbon nanotubes according to the present invention is provided with mesh shaped carbon nanotube aggregate which are embedded in a surface layer of the elastomer structure containing carbon nanotubes and are not protruded from the surface of the elastomer structure containing carbon nanotubes.
EXTRUSION OF PROFILES UTILISING OPPOSITE ROTATING DIES
The invention relates to device and method enabling industrial continuous pressing, called extrusion of plastically/thermally mouldable substances (11) such as metal, composite metal, plastic, composite or rubber, which is pressed to the profile (12) by a process comprising tool fixed member (6) partially predefining the profile shape/cross-section before the profile finally defined to fixed or varied cross-section when the material passes rotating dies (2) which can be patterned or smooth and through the contact with each other (1) cancel out each main radial forces and the position of which in some embodiments of the invention may vary relative to other bearing surfaces (13, 17) or rotary bearing surfaces (4) of the tool with which they define the final shape of the profile. The invention enables the extrusion of pattern on the inside of hollow profiles and the extrusion of multiple profiles in one tool, because 80-98% of the radial bearing forces are eliminated, allowing the installation of rotary dies where not previously possible, and almost unlimited opportunities in increased profile width.
CONNECTION ELEMENT FOR FORMING THE MALE PORTION OF AN AUTOMATIC FASTENER
Sheet having fastening elements, comprising a base strip made of thermoplastic material and at least one element made from the strip, the element consisting of a stem extending in a transverse, in particular vertical, direction to the plane of the base strip, and having a cross section which is substantially uniform or decreases from the base strip towards the apex of the stem, in particular as far as the apex of the stem, and a part forming a head which protrudes laterally from the apex of the stem.
Superhydrophobic films
Superhydrophobic films and methods of making such films are disclosed. More particularly, superhydrophobic films having durable nanostructures with high contrast ratios and various methods of producing such films are disclosed.
Surface protection film fabrication method and fabrication apparatus and surface protection film
A method is provided for fabricating a surface protection film that has no rolling defects such as blocking or wrinkling when rolled into a roll, and that, after the film is bonded to an adherend, is rolled into a roll, and stored for long periods of time, does not transfer unevenness or fisheyes on the back surface to the adherend. The surface protection film is fabricated as an elastomer by setting the arithmetical mean roughness (Ra) of the surface of a cold roller (4) to no more than 0.2 m, and the ten point mean roughness (Rz) of the surface of a nip roller (3) to 2-8 m and the mean distance (Sm) between protrusions and depressions thereof to no more than 90 m.
Method of imprinting to correct for a distortion within an imprint system
A method can include placing a substrate over a chucking region, wherein the substrate has a primary surface; quantifying a distortion in the substrate, the lithographic template, the imprint apparatus, or any combination thereof; and dispensing a formable material based at least in part on the distortion. The distortion can include a deviation in planarity, a magnification or orthogonality error or the like. In another aspect, an imprint apparatus can include a substrate holder including a chucking region; a template having an imprint surface that includes protrusions, wherein the protrusions define a primary surface; and a processor configured to determine an amount of a formable material to dispense in a particular area based at least in part on an distortion in the substrate, the lithographic template, the imprint apparatus, or any combination thereof.
SYSTEM, METHOD AND ARTICLE FOR SIDING CORNER
A method of injection molding a building product includes providing an injection mold with a plurality of gates located adjacent a perimeter of the injection mold. The method further includes commingling a first material and a second material into a flow, the second material comprising a color that contrasts with a color of the first material and injecting the commingled flow into the plurality of gates to form a building product. Thereafter, the method includes removing the building product from the injection mold. The second material extends through an interior of the building product and appears as contrasting streaks on an exterior of the building product to form a variegated grain appearance. The method also includes notching a portion of the building product, such that the building product has a substantially linear grain in an exposed portion thereof.
Antimicrobial colloidal silver products and method of making same
Gelatinous materials combined with the Colloidal Silver additive to formulate an antimicrobial product having cushioning properties. Embodiments of the present invention can include gelatinous materials selected from a group consisting of thermosetting polymer, Styrene-Ethylene-Butadiene-Styrene polymer (SEBS), Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE), and Polyurethane (PU) gelatin with and without a raised geometry on an outer surface.
Polymeric Film and Method of Making Same
A polymeric film has an orthogonal length and width. The polymeric film includes a substrate and a plurality of fins extending away from the substrate and substantially coextensive with the substrate along the length. The fins are arranged across the width. Each fin in at least a majority of the fins includes a first portion extending from the substrate to a tip of the fin opposite the substrate; and a second portion extending from the tip of the fin toward or to the substrate. The second portion is attached to the first portion proximate the tip and separated from the first portion proximate the substrate along at least a portion of the length. The first and second portions have different respective first and second compositions.
