Profiled films
The present disclosure relates to films having at least a first profiled layer and a second layer having an inverse profile of the first layer. Those films can be used as protection tapes for various surfaces. Exemplary uses of the films of the present disclosure include leading edge protection tapes for rotor blades.
Dual component LLDPE copolymers with improved impact and tear resistance, and methods of their preparation
Disclosed are ethylene polymer compositions containing a homogeneously-branched first ethylene polymer component and 15-35 wt. % of a homogeneously-branched second ethylene polymer component of higher density than the first ethylene polymer component. The ethylene polymer composition can be characterized by a density from 0.912 to 0.925 g/cm.sup.3, a ratio of Mw/Mn from 2 to 5, a melt index less than 2 g/10 min, and a CY-a parameter at 190° C. from 0.35 to 0.7. These polymer compositions have the excellent dart impact strength and optical properties of a metallocene-catalyzed LLDPE, but with improved machine direction tear resistance, and can be used in blown film and other end-use applications. Further, methods for improving film Elmendorf tear strength also are described.
Manufacturing method and manufacturing apparatus for laminate
A manufacturing method including a first conveying step of conveying the sheet in a lateral or oblique lateral direction along a sheet pass line below the discharge port; a receiving step of receiving a tip part of the film raw material with the sheet on the sheet pass line, the tip part being discharged and hanging down from the discharge port; a second conveying step of conveying the sheet and the film raw material after the tip part overlaps the sheet on the sheet pass line, the second conveying step conveying the sheet and the film raw material in a mutually overlapping state along the sheet pass line; and an introducing step of introducing the sheet and the film raw material in the mutually overlapping state to the joining part from the sheet pass line.
PRINTING SHEET AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRINTING SHEET
Provided are a printing sheet having a coating layer for receiving ink on at least one surface of a substrate and having excellent printability, excellent adhesiveness between the substrate and the coating layer, and excellent antistatic performance and thus being less likely to cause troubles such as paper jams during printing, and further having excellent properties such as water resistance and weather resistance in a printing sheet; and a method for producing the same. The printing sheet includes a coating layer formed by blending (meth)acrylic ester-based resin particles in a proportion of 1% by mass or more and 10% by mass or less and clay in a proportion of 50% by mass or more and 70% by mass or less in a continuous phase made of an acrylic polymer.
Super Absorbent Polymer Film and Preparation Method Thereof
The present disclosure relates to a super absorbent polymer film and a preparation method of the same. Specifically, it relates to a new type of super absorbent polymer film, which is thin and exhibits excellent absorption performance and high tensile strength. In addition, the super absorbent polymer film of the present disclosure is free from scattering or leaking, and does not require an auxiliary substance such as pulp, so that products can be made thinner and the manufacturing process and costs may be reduced.
FILM AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME
A film includes a copolymer having a tetrafluoroethylene-based unit and an ethylene-based unit, in which the film has a haze of from 1.2% to 8.0%, an ultraviolet reflectance of less than 17.0%, and a thickness of from 250 to 400 μm.
BLOWOFF NOZZLE
A blower nozzle is a blower nozzle that blows out the air to a film being conveyed, and that includes an internally installed portion that is provided near a position where the air is blown out, inside the blower nozzle, and that has inclined surfaces inclined with respect to a virtual plane passing through an opening surface of an opening of the blower nozzle, the opening surface being a surface from which the air is blown out, the inclined surfaces being inclined in a manner being closer to each other toward the virtual plane.
Hydrolysis resistant polyester film
The use of titanium dioxide particles coated by an organic coating for increasing the hydrolysis resistance of an oriented polyester film, particularly wherein the organic coating does not comprise or is not derived from a silane, and particularly wherein the organic coating is selected from an organophosphorus compound and a polymeric organic coating; and oriented polyester films comprising such titanium dioxide particles coated by an organic coating; and photovoltaic cells comprising such films.
Birefringent polymer having bimodal molecular weight
An optically anisotropic polymer thin film includes a crystallizable polymer and an additive configured to interact with the polymer (e.g., via π-π interactions) to facilitate chain alignment and, in some examples, create a higher crystalline content within the polymer thin film. The polymer thin film may be characterized by a bimodal molecular weight distribution where the molecular weight of the additive may be less than approximately 50% of the molecular weight of the crystallizable polymer. Example crystallizable polymers include polyethylene naphthalate, polyethylene terephthalate, polybutylene naphthalate, polybutylene terephthalate, as well as derivatives thereof. Example additives, which may occupy up to approximately 10 wt. % of the polymer thin film, include aromatic ester oligomers, aromatic amide oligomers, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, for example. The optically anisotropic polymer thin film may be characterized by a refractive index greater than approximately 1.7 and an in-plane birefringence greater than approximately 0.2.
