METHOD FOR PRODUCING A REINFORCEMENT STRUCTURE FOR A TIRE

The reinforcing structure for a tire is in the form of a stratified assembly formed of two layers of reinforcing strips of completely connected cross section, and flattened in shape. According to the method, the strips of each layer are laid side by side in a main direction of laying. The strips of the first layer are spaced apart by a distance that is less than the width of the strips of the second layer and in such a way that the edges of the strips of the first layer overlap the edges of the strips of the second layer. The two layers of strips are separated by a layer of uncoupling rubber.

Thermoplastic Elastomeric Films and the Method of Manufacturing Same

A process for forming a film for dynamically vulcanized alloy comprising at least one elastomer dispersed within a thermoplastic resin domain wherein the film is characterized by low shrinkage rates after completion of the formation of the extruded film. The film has a shrinkage rate, measured at not earlier than 96 hours after formation of the film, of less than 1.5% relative to the film width as measured just after film formation. During formation of the film, the extruded film is subjected to a cooling rate of less than 97 C. per second and the frost line of the extruded film is greater than 135 mm.

Sealant-containing tire and related processes

Processes for producing a sealant layer-tire inner liner combination as well as a sealant layer-containing tire and related processes involving the sealant layer-containing tire are disclosed. The sealant layer is adhered to the tire inner liner, has a thickness of 2-8 mm and comprises 100 parts of at least one rubber, 300-500 phr of at least one tackifier, optionally one or more extenders, optionally at least one hydroscopic substance, and a cure package.
