METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A FLUID LINE WITH CONNECTING ELEMENT
The invention relates to a method and a device for producing a fluid line (7) with a connecting element formed on an end portion of the fluid line (7), wherein the connecting element comprises a coupling part (8) and a connector (70) which connects to the coupling part (8) toward the end of the fluid line.
DEVICE FOR WELDING ELECTROFUSION FITTINGS WITH EXTENSION CABLE
A method keeps a voltage or a current constant during a welding process of an electrofusion fitting. The method includes: connecting an extension cable between a connection cable of a welding power supply and the electrofusion fitting to be welded; detecting the extension cable by the welding power supply; detecting and recording the electrofusion fitting to be welded and its data by the welding power supply; autonomously supplying the current or the voltage with the welding power supply; and autonomously regulating the current or the voltage based upon the detection of the connected extension cable and a resulting resistance due to the connected extension cable. The current or the voltage is adjusted such that the current or the voltage remains constant during the welding of the electrofusion fitting.
COMBINED METAL / PLASTIC TUBING APPARATUSES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
An apparatus may comprise: a metal pipe portion extending from a first end to a first transition end and defining a first radially outer surface and a first radially inner surface, the first transition end comprising a first tooth element and a second tooth element disposed circumferentially adjacent to the first tooth element; and a polymeric pipe portion having a second transition end and defining a second radially outer surface and a second radially inner surface, the second transition end having a complimentary shape to the first transition end, the second transition end coupled to the first transition end.
Method of joining pipes and apparatus for facilitating the same
An apparatus and method for joining pipes includes a plate for melting mating surfaces of the pipes to be joined. Additionally, the apparatus utilizes a vacuum in order to push the first and second pipes together in lieu of hand or mechanical pressure which may be inconsistent. Additionally, the vacuum allows the pipes to be joined to settle on each other in order to create a pressure about a periphery of the end of the pipe being joined to the other pipe. The consistent pressure creates a very strong joint between the first and second pipes.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REINFORCING PIPING AND INSTALLING A PIPE ADAPTER
A method of joining a non-metallic pipe to a metallic pipe. The pipe may be wrapped with one or more sheets of reinforcement material (e.g., pre-impregnated fiberglass, carbon fiber, or aramid fiber) and then fitted with an adapter or fitting that is connectable to a metallic pipe. The reinforcement material may be heated using a heating apparatus which allows the material to bond to the pipe to strengthen the joint.
END TERMINATIONS AND UNIONS FOR A HOSE CONSTRUCTION WITH A COUPLING HAVING A NON-METALLIC INSERT AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
A hose construction having a coupling secured to an end of a hose, with the coupling including a tubular insert formed with a polymer mixed with chopped reinforcement fiber and including first and second ends, with the first end being inserted in the hose, and the second end including a connector interface. A tubular metallic ferrule is connected to the tubular insert adjacent to the second end in order to form an annular hose receiving space between an outer surface of the insert and an inner surface of the ferrule. The end of the hose is received in the annular hose receiving space, and the ferrule is deformed inwardly against the hose to form a secure connection. The tubular insert formed of a non-metallic material has high strength and is resistant to corrosion due to contact with the materials being transported.
Methods of Using Compression Collars for Coupling a Tube to a Tube Fitting
A method for coupling a tube to a tube fitting includes radially outwardly expanding a tubular compression collar from a constricted state to an expanded state, the compression collar having a throughway extending there through and being made of a resiliently flexible material. An end of the tube is inserted within the throughway of the expanded compression collar, the tube bounding a passage. A tube fitting is inserted within the passage of the tube. The compression collar is allowed to resiliently rebound back towards the constricted state so that the compression collar pushes the tube against the tube fitting.

Apparatus and method for electrofusion welding of reinforced thermosetting resin pipe joints
A system for coupling pipes includes a first pipe having a tapered, spigot end; a second pipe having a tapered, spigot end; and a coupler having two tapered socket ends adapted to internally receive the respective tapered, spigot ends of the first pipe and the second pipe. The first pipe and the second pipe are made from a reinforced thermosetting resin (RTR). The coupler comprising a resistive element implanted therein and connected to electrodes extending to an exterior of the coupler. A thermoplastic material is disposed between an exterior of the first pipe and an interior of the coupler. A thermoplastic material is disposed between an exterior of the second pipe and the interior of the coupler. Upon application of electricity to the electrodes, the resistive elements are heated sufficiently to melt the thermoplastic material such that, when the heat is removed, the hardened thermoplastic material seals the first pipe and the second pipe to the coupler. A method of coupling pipes includes disposing a thermoplastic material between an exterior of a first pipe and an interior of a coupler; disposing a thermoplastic material between an exterior of a second pipe and the interior of the coupler; inserting the first pipe and the second pipe into the coupler; and applying of electricity to electrodes of the coupler such that resistive elements of the coupler heat sufficiently to melt the thermoplastic material such that, when the heat is removed, the hardened thermoplastic material seals the first pipe and the second pipe to the coupler.
