20210215287 · 2021-07-15 ·

A polymer pipe has a length between a first end and a second end. The length and the first end have a first diameter and the second end is a belled end having a second diameter larger than the first diameter. An insert device is received or pre-installed within the second end and has an annular body with a seal part coupled to the annular body and a spline groove formed in the annular body and facing radially inward. Another polymer pipe is inserted in the belled end to form a pipe joint assembly and has a mating spline groove on the outer surface. The spline groove and mating spline groove axially align and receive a spline therein to axially interlock the two polymer pipes to form a pipe joint assembly.

Composite connectors and methods of manufacturing the same

A method of manufacturing a composite (e.g. fiber-reinforced polymer) connector for a fluid transfer conduit comprises: manufacturing a tubular pre-form which extends substantially parallel to a central axis C, the tubular pre-form comprising continuous circumferentially-oriented fiber reinforcement; manufacturing a continuous fiber pre-form net, the pre-form net comprising a support layer and continuous fiber reinforcement, the continuous fiber reinforcement being secured by being stitched to the support layer; placing the tubular pre-form and the pre-form net together into a mould to form a tubular hub portion from the tubular pre-form and a flange portion from the pre-form net, the flange portion extending from the hub portion at an angle to the central axis C; and introducing polymer into the mould so as to form a composite connector comprising the flange portion and the hub portion.

Quick connector coupling

A quick connector coupling comprises a collar port having a passage and a collar, a connector to be coupled to the collar port and comprising a tube portion to be received in the passage, a flange on the tube portion, a sealing ring received in a groove on the tube portion, and a locking clip for engaging the collar and an engagement surface of the connector to lock the connector against axial movement. With the connector in a mounted state, the flange has extensions extending along the tube portion beyond the collar, the extensions carry a terminal ring with a surface facing the flange forming the engagement surface spaced from the collar, the clip arranged to lock the connector on the collar port against axial movement, and the groove is axially formed on the tube portion such that the groove is closer to the flange than the engagement surface.

COMPOSITE TRANSITION FITTING
20200408338 · 2020-12-31 ·

A pipe fitting having a first body and a second body that together at least partially define a fluid flow passage. The first body defines a first portion of the fluid flow passage that extends from a first end of the fluid flow passage to a first internal opening. The second body defines a second portion of the fluid flow passage that extends from a second internal opening to a second end of the fluid flow passage. The first body has a first interface surface that surrounds the first internal opening, the first interface surface having a plurality of anti-rotation grooves. The second body has a second interface surface that surrounds the second internal opening and engages with the first interface surface. The first internal opening is in fluid communication with the second internal opening. The second interface surface has a plurality of anti-rotation fingers that are each received by and engage with a corresponding one of the anti-rotation grooves. Rotation of the second body relative to the first body is resisted by the engagement of the anti-rotation fingers with the anti-rotation grooves.
