Universal joint sealing tape for different profile dimensions and seal arrangement having such a joint sealing tape
A joint sealing tape is described, which can be universally used for different profile dimensions, for sealing building joints, particularly for sealing them with regard to noise and/or smoke and with regard to fire, if applicable. In particular, a joint sealing tape for sealing a joint between a first component and a second component is described, having an elongated connection element and at least two sealing elements, which are positioned on the connection element at a distance from and next to one another, running in the longitudinal direction of the connection element, and wherein the connection element has a perforation. Furthermore, a sealing arrangement for sealing building joints, particularly for sealing them with regard to noise and/or smoke and with regard to fire, if applicable, having such a joint sealing tape is described.
HOUSING FOR A FASTENER OF A VEHICLE COMPONENT
Methods and systems are provided for a housing for a fastener of a vehicle component. In one example, a housing for a fastener includes a central conduit adapted to receive the fastener, and a radial key extending outward from an outer surface of the housing. The radial key is first pressed against a vehicle component in an axial direction of the housing to form a first section of a channel within an interior of the vehicle component, and the key is then rotated against the interior to form an undercut, second section of the channel in a circumferential direction of the housing.
Receiving device and injection-molding method
In order to reduce production tolerances, a receiving device is proposed for receiving a first, in particular a sealing profile for vehicle doors, which is designed to injection mold at least one, in particular two further profiles onto the first profile, comprising at least two molds, in order to hold the first profile in each of the molds at least in some sections, having a connecting device for connecting two of the at least two molds and for aligning the first profile, wherein the two interconnected molds each comprise at least one receiving opening for receiving and holding the profile and the connecting device, wherein the receiving opening is designed to be able to receive the first profile and the connecting device in at least one of the two interconnected molds so as to be at least partly countersunk.
Profile strip arrangement
A profile strip arrangement includes a profile strip made of a profile material. The profile strip has a first connecting area configured to form a connection to an edge area of a windshield of a motor vehicle, and has a second connecting area configured to form a connection to a part that is adjacent to the windshield. The first connecting area has a lower connecting section which interacts with an inside of the edge area of the windshield and which has at least one free surface section that is free of the profile material. The at least one free surface section is formed by a surface of an additional element that is made of a material that differs from that of the profile strip.
Lightweight material
Disclosed herein is a novel approach to producing a lightweight component. The lightweight component is produced of a much lighter material than has been used before, produced by a process of mixing a compound containing uncured silicone and a volume of microspheres, and then dispensing this material into a mold. Such a mold may be a female mold having the negative three dimensional shape of the lightweight component to be produced. The lightweight component may then be pressurized and/or heated during the curing process either prior to removing the lightweight component from the mold or after removing the lightweight component from the mold.
Low torque sprinkler fitting and method of manufacture
A brass fitting is in-molded in a plastic pipe fitting, which is coupled to a water supply line in a conventional matter. The brass insert receives a tapered seal with sealing surfaces that seat against the brass insert and a sprinkler head to form a sealed connection. The seal includes a tapered passageway for compression when tightening, as well as an external taper to allow the seal to conform to the socket formed by the plastic pipe fitting and brass insert. Also, a manufacturing method includes in-molding a brass insert within a plastic fitting using an O-ring which interfaces between the brass insert and surrounding molded fitting to seal the brass insert to the fitting. In one embodiment, the seal is used in a polymeric fitting without a brass insert.
ENGINE COVER WITH AN INTEGRAL TOLERANCE COMPENSATED SHAFT SEAL AND METHOD
A thermoplastic engine cover for an internal combustion engine has a plurality of mounting holes for mounting the thermoplastic engine cover to an internal combustion engine. At least two datum locator formed on or arranged on the thermoplastic engine cover. At least one through opening configured to receive a rotatable shaft of the internal combustion engine. The at least one through opening has an internal diameter sized to provide an annular clearance gap between the seal carrier and an adjacent circumferential wall of the at least one through opening, to allow final positioning of the seal in the annular clearance gap to a final position in which the seal and seal carrier are positioned in a dimensionally correct position relative to the at least two datum locators. The seal carrier is then welded to the thermoplastic engine cover.
Method and device for producing a profiled element
What is described is a method for manufacturing a profile element for sealing building-structure joints, especially for sealing against sound and smoke and optionally against fire, to an apparatus for manufacturing such a profile element and to the use of the profile element manufactured according to the invention for the acoustic, smokeproof and/or fireproof sealing of connecting joints in drywalls, especially of expansion joints. In particular, an improved method is described for continuous and endless manufacture of such a profile element.
Method of manufacturing a window seal assembly with a molded bracket
A method of manufacturing a seal assembly for attachment to a vehicle having a securing point spaced from a vehicle point at a distance with an apparatus having first and second receptacles defining a cavity, and a bracket apparatus defining a bracket cavity, including: forming a first strip having a first body with first ends; forming a second strip having a second body with second ends; positioning one first end into the first receptacle with the first body adjacent to the bracket cavity; positioning one second end into the second receptacle; forming a molding bonding the strips together to define a mold point; forming a bracket with a receiver at a receiver point, and an interface bonded to the first body spaced such that a distance between the receiver point of the bonded bracket and the mold point is equal to the distance between the securing and vehicle points.
FLEXIBLE CORNER TRIM PRODUCT
A trim piece for sealing a work surface including a body having a first side, a second side, and a span disposed between the first side and the second side, wherein the first side and the second side are joined at a junction defining an angle between the first side and the second side of between 80 degrees and 100 degrees, a topcap is affixed to the span of the body, wherein the topcap includes a left side having a first wing and a right side having a second wing, an adhesive is bonded to the first side of the body and an aperture is disposed within the body.
