A seal for a vacuum lifter and method of manufacture wherein the seal has a continuous unbroken outer fluid resistant skin of elastomer which forms a boundary around a homogeneous cellular structure with no interior seams or joints.

COMPRESSION VULCANIZATION MOLDING MOLD FOR ROLLING BEARING SEAL, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ROLLING BEARING SEAL

The rolling bearing seal includes a core metal and rubber adhered to the core metal by vulcanization. The rubber includes: a seal lip portion having, over the entire circumference in the circumferential direction, a plurality of projections that extend inward in the radial direction from the inner diameter side of the core metal, and slides on a seal sliding surface of an inner ring of a rolling bearing; and an attachment portion that is attached to an outer ring of the rolling bearing. A compression vulcanization molding mold includes a female mold and a male mold. The female mold has a guide portion for positioning the core metal and a rugged shape forming the projections on the seal lip portion. The male mold has an inner-diameter-side burr groove and an outer-diameter-side burr groove and the shape of a radially outermost portion of the inner-diameter-side burr groove is formed in a circle.

ROTARY SEAL AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME

Articles comprising carbon composites are disclosed. The carbon composites contain carbon microstructures having interstitial spaces among the carbon microstructures; and a binder disposed in at least some of the interstitial spaces; wherein the carbon microstructures comprise unfilled voids within the carbon microstructures. Alternatively, the carbon composites contain: at least two carbon microstructures; and a binding phase disposed between the at least two carbon microstructures; wherein the binding phase comprises a binder comprising one or more of the following: SiO.sub.2; Si; B; B.sub.2O.sub.3; a metal; or an alloy of the metal; and wherein the metal is at least one of aluminum; copper; titanium; nickel; tungsten; chromium; iron; manganese; zirconium; hafnium; vanadium; niobium; molybdenum; tin; bismuth; antimony; lead; cadmium; or selenium.

Carrier with localized fibrous insert and methods

A structural reinforcement for an article including a carrier that includes: (i) a mass of polymeric material having an outer surface; and (is) at least one consolidated fibrous insert having an outer surface and including at least one elongated fiber arrangement having a plurality of ordered fibers arranged in a predetermined manner. The fibrous insert is envisioned to adjoin the mass of the polymeric material in a predetermined location for carrying a predetermined load that is subjected upon the predetermined location (thereby effectively providing localized reinforcement to that predetermined location). The fibrous insert and the mass of polymeric material are of compatible materials, structures or both, for allowing the fibrous insert to be at least partially joined to the mass of the polymeric material. Disposed upon at least a portion of the carrier will be a mass of activatable material.

Gasket and method of manufacturing the same

The invention provides a gasket which improves a handling workability of a rubber only type gasket. The gasket of the invention is constructed by a combination of a rubber only type gasket main body, and a carrier sheet which is made of a resin film retaining the gasket main body in a non-bonded state, and the carrier sheet is provided with an air inflow port for making air flow into a portion between the carrier sheet and the gasket main body when the gasket main body is detached from the carrier sheet. A gasket retention portion having a three-dimensional shape which is deformed along an outer shape of the gasket main body is arranged at a position which laps over the gasket main body in a plane in the carrier sheet, and the gasket main body is partly accommodated within the gasket retention portion in a thickness direction.

COVER OF A POWER BATTERY AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
20190319227 · 2019-10-17 ·

A cover of a power battery has a plate, two electrodes, and two sealing pieces. The plate has two through holes disposed on the plate. The two electrodes are respectively engaged with the plate. The two sealing pieces are respectively mounted between the two electrodes and the plate, and are located between the two electrodes and the two through holes. Furthermore, the two sealing pieces are each formed integrally by an injection-molding step. The two sealing pieces allow the cover to isolate the outer space and the inner space of the power battery, and further to avoid air or liquid leakage. Moreover, the injection molding simplifies the assembly of the cover of a power battery, which makes the process of producing a cover of a power battery more efficient and more convenient. A manufacturing method of the cover of a power battery is also provided.

METHOD OF PRODUCING SEALING MEMBER FOR FUEL CELL AND RUBBER COMPOSITION FOR MOLDING

A method of producing a sealing member for a fuel cell includes: setting a base material made of a modified polypropylene in a mold; bringing a hydrosilicone crosslinked ethylene/-olefin/non-conjugated diene copolymer into contact with the base material and performing molding in the mold; and vulcanizing the hydrosilicone crosslinked ethylene/-olefin/non-conjugated diene copolymer and at the same time, bonding the hydrosilicone crosslinked ethylene/-olefin/non-conjugated diene copolymer and the base material by vulcanization, in the mold with a molding temperature set to a temperature that is higher than a vulcanization start temperature of the hydrosilicone crosslinked ethylene/-olefin/non-conjugated diene copolymer and lower than a melting point of the modified polypropylene.
