BICYCLE RIM AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING
A bicycle rim for bicycles with a rim body with a visible surface perceptible in proper operation, wherein a supporting structure of the rim body is made from fibrous composite materials of prepreg layers is disclosed. The rim body includes rim flanks disposed opposite one another, a rim well, and a rim base. The visible surface is formed by a thin non-woven layer on the supporting structure, so as to form directly during manufacturing, an optically appealing, visible surface on the rim body, involving no postprocessing. The non-woven layer forms on the rim body, an outer layer of a composite layer. The composite layer includes a prepreg layer and the non-woven layer.
Flywheel intended for energy storage
Disclosed is a flywheel intended for energy storage, including a cylindrical mass body including a main material with compression resistance of at least 25 MPa, such as concrete, the body being surrounded on at least one portion of the outer surface thereof with fibers, the material that makes up the fibers having a tensile strength of at least 100 Mpa. The tension of winding the fibers around the body leads to the compression of the main material, and the tension applied to the fibers is such that the stress exerted on the material of the mass body is at least equal to half of the maximum acceptable stress, the maximum stress being lower than the compression yield strength of the material that makes up the mass body, the material of the latter thus being pre-stressed.
Woven preforms, fiber reinforced composites, and methods of making thereof
Preforms for use in fiber-reinforced composites, fiber-reinforced composites, and methods for making thereof are disclosed. One method includes interweaving a plurality of warp yarns with a single weft yarn so as to form a tubular woven structure with a central axis. The preform can be woven using an endless or tubular weaving technique, and can be woven so as to have two or more diameters along a length thereof. The preform can include one or more layers of a fabric formed on or attached to one or both surfaces of the tubular woven structure. The end structure can be a part of a window frame, a wheel rim, or a combustor in a jet engine.
BICYCLE WHEEL RIM
A composite rim for a bicycle wheel that has a wall of structural fibers incorporated in a thermosetting polymeric material and a plurality of spoke attachment seats. The composite material includes at least one layer of woven bi-directional fibers where some fibers are in a nominal direction substantially parallel to the circumferential direction of the rim and some fibers are substantially orthogonal to the circumferential direction of the rim.
FIBER REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC SPOKE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR THE SAME
A spoke has a rod and at least one tube. The rod is made of a composite material containing thermoplastic resin and fibers. Each one of the at least one tube is mounted on and around the rod and is heated and pressed with the rod to form at least one engaging recess radially embedded in the rod. The spoke engages the at least one tube and the rod via thermoforming the at least one tube and the rod together.
METHOD FOR SURFACE TREATMENT OF COMPOSITE MATERIAL PART AND TREATED PART
The disclosure provides a method for surface treatment of a composite material part and the prepared part. The method comprises the steps of: (1) providing a surface of a carbon fiber composite material part; (2) preparing a surface protection layer; (3) polishing the carbon fiber reinforced resin-based composite material surface after transparent powder is cured; (4) spraying transparent powder to the carbon fiber reinforced resin-based composite material surface after the transparent powder thereon is cured and curing it; (5) polishing the carbon fiber reinforced resin-based composite material surface after the transparent powder is cured; and (6) spraying a clear lacquer to the carbon fiber reinforced resin-based composite material surface after the transparent powder is cured and curing it.
Wheel spider with assembled spoke elements and connection of wheel spider to rim well
A wheel includes a rim having a rim well and rim flanges, a hub, and at least three spoke elements. Each spoke element forms at least one spoke between the hub and the rim. The spoke elements are fastened to an inside of the rim in a form-closed manner or a form-closed and bonded manner. In the hub region, the spoke elements are supported on each other in a circumferential direction at abutting surfaces designed therefor. A method for producing the wheel is provided.
Wheel spider
A wheel with a rim as well as a wheel spider, where the wheel spider has a hub and spokes. The wheel includes spokes including one or more linearly stretched textile strands as reinforcement material of a fiber composite and each linearly stretched textile strand runs at least once from the rim to the hub and back without interruption and thus forms at least one spoke. The textile strands are connected in a positive-locking manner and/or in substance with the hub and the rim. A process is provided for the manufacture of the wheel.
Method for manufacturing spoke unit
In a method for manufacturing a spoke unit, the continuous fiber reinforced plastic is led from a middle supporting portion to a first supporting portion along the front surface of the mandrel. Subsequently, the continuous fiber reinforced plastic is led from the first supporting portion to the middle supporting portion along the back surface of the mandrel. Subsequently, the continuous fiber reinforced plastic is led from the middle supporting portion to a second supporting portion along the front surface of the mandrel. Subsequently, the continuous fiber reinforced plastic is led from the second supporting portion to the middle supporting portion along the back surface of the mandrel.
FACE TO RIM REINFORCING CONNECTOR OF A COMPOSITE WHEEL
A spoke-to-rim reinforcing connector of a composite wheel. The composite wheel has a rim portion with a complementary rim fibre layup and a circumferential axis, and a face portion with a hub and spokes interconnecting the rim portion and the hub, each spoke having a complementary spoke fibre layup. The spoke-to-rim reinforcing connector comprises at least one spoke saddle and at least two rim tabs. The spoke saddle has a seat portion extending around an end portion, about the spoke axis, and over a face surface of the spoke fibre layup, and at least two spoke legs that extend over the sides of the spoke fibre layup. Each rim tab extends from a spoke leg perpendicularly to the spoke axis and is configured to be incorporated into the rim fibre layup. The connector has a continuous body having a fibre orientation extending perpendicular to the spoke axis.
