Bicycle wheel
A method is provided for producing a bicycle wheel made of a fiber composite material, including laminating, in one piece and in one step, a rim, a plurality of spokes each including a first spoke section and a second spoke section, and a center having a first center disc and a second center disc, wherein all fibers for the rim, the spokes, and the center are laid in mold parts in the one step; curing the laminated rim, spokes, and center to form the bicycle wheel; and removing the formed bicycle wheel in said one piece from the mold, wherein the spokes are laminated and cured such that the first spoke section and the second spoke section have a substantially straight shape.
METHOD TO PRODUCE A FIBER REINFORCED ANNULAR BODY AND A DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A FIBER REINFORCED ANNULAR
The invention is directed to a method for producing a rim (2) comprising at least one three-dimensionally shaped layer of reinforcing fibers (26). In a first step a forming tool (25) is provided which comprises a three-dimensionally shaped outer contour. In a subsequent step a band of reinforcing fibers (26) is wound onto the forming tool (25) such that the reinforcing fibers follow the outer contour of the forming tool (25) and are arranged in at least one of reinforcing fibers. A draping device (27) is provided by which the band of reinforcing fibers (26) is preformed before the band of reinforcing fibers (26) is wound onto the forming tool (25).
Drive System for a Vehicle Driveable Directly by Muscle Force, Method for Changing a Roller of Such a Drive System and Production Method
The invention relates to a drive system for a vehicle drivable by muscle force, in particular for a skateboard, said drive system comprising at least one axle and at least one wheel (1) which has an electric motor (10), wherein the electric motor (10) comprises a stator (11), which can be connected to the axle, and a rotor (12) which is rotatable about the stator. The invention is characterised in that the wheel (1) has a roller (20) which forms a running surface (24), wherein the roller (20) is or can be replaceably connected to the rotor (12). The invention further relates to a method for changing a roller (20) of such a drive system and to a production method.
Roller
A roller including: a main body portion configured to include an outer ring and a rotatable inner ring on an inner circumferential side of the outer ring; and a covering portion disposed on an outer circumferential surface of the outer ring, the covering portion being made of a synthetic resin in which reinforced fibers are dispersed, wherein the covering portion includes a region in which arrangement directions of the reinforced fibers are aligned.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR APPLYING A SUBSTRATE ONTO AN ELEVATOR SHEAVE
An elevator maintenance kit is provided for surfacing an elevator sheave that engages with an elevator tension member. The kit includes a substrate with an adhesive backing, and a substrate applicator that is operable to apply the substrate to the sheave as the sheave is rotated. The adhesive backing is operable to attach the substrate to the sheave during the sheave rotation.
Composite fiber bicycle wheels
Carbon fiber bicycle wheels are formed from parts cut from carbon fiber cloth and then joined together to form a rim, sidewalls, spokes, flanges and a center tunnel on which the flanges are mounted. The parts are then assembled, bonded together, and cured to form a wheel. During assembly, the spokes and the wheel are placed in tension by moving the flanges outwardly on the center tunnel after assembly and then bonding them in place to stiffen and strengthen the wheel. The spokes of the drive side of the rear wheel are specially shaped to accommodate torque transfer forces generated by pedaling.
FOAM ROLLER
A foam roller includes a body having a passage defined axially therethrough. A support coat is connected to the outer surface of the body and has a first layer and a second layer. The first layer has multiple slots through which multiple protrusions formed on the outside of the second layer extend. The protrusions extending through the slots form multiple massage portions. The second layer is connected to the outside of the first layer by way of heat pressing to form the support coat. The first and second layers have different colors. The color of the outside of each massage portion is different from the color of the first layer.
BICYCLE WHEEL HUB WITH MOLDED SPOKE HOLES
A hub for a bicycle wheel includes a hub shell that defines one or more spoke holes. The hub shell includes a fiber reinforced material. The fiber reinforced material has one or more reinforcement fibers bending around the spoke holes to remain continuous around the spoke holes. One or more flanges with the spoke holes extend from the hub shell at an outer radial direction. A clutch or freehub adapter is coupled to the hub shell. Depending on the type of clutch mechanism used in the freehub, different clutch adapters can be incorporated into the hub.
Methods for Fabricating Thermoplastic-based Composite Spokes and Spoke Assemblies
A method for fabricating thermoplastic bicycle spokes that securely couple to an end fitting, at one or both ends thereof, via a non-threaded, mechanical interlocking geometry. A spoke body is fabricated from thermoplastic resin, and then thermoplastic material is added, in situ (using the internal geometry of the end fitting as a form). This increases the effective diameter of the spoke at at least one end thereof to create an engagement feature that is adapted to interlock with the internal configuration of the end fitting. Additionally, by virtue of the method, the end of the spoke has a desirable fiber alignment, wherein the fibers substantially align with in-use loads.
