Blow molded part including compression molded element
In one example, a structure is provided that includes a plastic body having a unitary, single-piece construction. The plastic body further includes a substantially hollow interior, and a parting line that extends around a portion of the perimeter of the structure. The structure also includes a solid compression molded element that is integral with the plastic body. The solid compression molded element is configured and arranged such that the parting line is not connected to the solid compression molded element.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A TUBE SNAP FASTENING ARRANGEMENT
The invention relates to a method (100) for manufacturing a fastening arrangement for fastening a collar to a tube. The method comprises the steps of providing a hollow tube (10), arranging said tube for receiving at least one forming punch (30) in the axial direction of the tube, punching the tube with a forming punch at an inner radial part of an edge portion (16) of the tube in the axial direction of the tube, locally reducing the tube thickness, so that the material being punched is plastically relocated in the axial direction, locally forming a snap portion (11) in the form of a flange (12) in the radial direction towards the hollow inside of the tube, providing a collar (20) configured to be arranged on the tube, wherein the collar comprises at least one receiving portion (21) arranged to receive said snap portion, and arranging the collar to the tube such that the snap portion engages with said receiving portion.
Edge strip and method for its manufacture
An edge strip for pieces of furniture including a main body with an underside that can be attached to a piece of furniture and an upper side facing away from the underside, wherein the upper side has at least one transition section sloping down towards an edge of the main body. In order to enable an improved visual impression of the edge strip in the transition section, the transition section slopes down in a stepped manner towards the edge of the main body, wherein the transition section has at least two steps, each with an upper side surface and an edge side surface per step, wherein the upper side surfaces are aligned independently of one another in relation to the underside and wherein the edge side surfaces are inclined independently of one another in relation to the underside.
Hinge mold process for creating structural forms and shapes
A process and assembly for producing a structural article, as well as an article produced according to any process and assembly. A mold has a base and a hinged lid, either or both of which include a cavity interior which defines a negative of the structural article to be produced. A structural insert placed within the mold, prior or subsequent to a plasticized and structural forming foam material also being placed within the mold. The foam cures and sets in encapsulating fashion around the insert so that, upon removal, the insert is coated within the formed material.
ALTERNATIVE USES OF FOOD PROCESSING BY-PRODUCTS
The present application relates to a product made with food processing by-products/wastes in particular from the cocoa and chocolate industry, the coffee roasting industry, the wine and distillery industries, the beer industry, the olive oil industry and the fruits and vegetables industries, mixed with a binder, preferably a bio-based binder. The present application also relates to the method of manufacturing the product.
EDGE MODIFICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS
An improved method of edge modification such as edge banding comprising placing a roller in contact with an edge and measuring a first position of the roller. Subsequently moving the contact roller along the edge to a second position and measuring the second position before calculating a desired force direction from the first and second position measurements, applying a force via the pressure roller in the desired force direction.
Blow-molded rib structure
A blow-molded structural panel has a stiffening rib structure in which the height and width of the rib structure varies over its length. For example, the rib structure may have three tall portions separated by two short portions, with a gradual slope in height between the various portions. The rib structure is preferably wider in the short portions than it is in the tall portions. The lower height of the rib structure in some portions enhances the stiffness of the panel, while also using less material because the plastic does not have to be drawn so deeply into the mold in the short portions.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF UV PRINTING ON SUBSTRATES
A system and method for printing patterns on a substrate, including a substrate; a powder; a sealing coating; and a UV curable paint; wherein the powder, the sealing coating and the UV curable paint are deposited onto the substrate and heated and cured. The method is designed to make the substrate have a faux appearance with lower costs than manufacturing the real substrate it was meant to look like.
EDGE TRIM FOR PIECES OF FURNITURE
An edge trim for pieces of furniture, including a meltable layer, is described. The molecular structure of the meltable layer contains both polar and non-polar parts. By way of a non-limiting example, an edge trim for pieces of furniture having an exposed edge of wooden or wood substitute material is described, comprising a molten layer and a structural layer, wherein the structural layer and the molten layer are connected in an adhesive bond, wherein the molten layer is made of a material that is chemically modified such that polar and non-polar components are found in a single molecular structure, wherein the molten layer contains energy absorbing additives, wherein the energy absorbing additives of the molten layer are selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, metal phosphates, metal salts of organic anions and combinations thereof.
Production of complex hollow foam or sandwich structures by means of a mold core
The invention relates to a process for producing complex, mould-foamed rigid foam materials, more particularly of poly(meth)acrylimide (P(M)I) cores, preferably of polymethacrylimide (PMI) cores, which may be employed, for example, in carmaking or aircraft construction. A feature of the process is that through use of a particulate core during foam, it is possible to achieve an additional weight saving relative to foam materials or sandwich materials of the prior art.
