PLASTIC FILM WITH AN ELASTIC CORD
The invention relates to an apparatus (10) for embedding a continuous elastic cord (11) along an edge of a continuous plastic sheet (12). The apparatus comprises an adhesive applicator device operable to apply an adhesive (16) along the edge of the plastic sheet, a folder device (18, 20, 34) operable to provide a folded edge of the plastic sheet (12) so that the adhesive is within the folded edge, and a feed device (24) having a tension device (30) operable to feed the elastic cord (11) in tension into the folded edge so that the elastic cord (11) is in contact with the adhesive of the edge. A bonding device (38) is operable to activate the adhesive of the folded edge to bond the elastic cord (11) in tension to the adhesive within the folded edge and to bond the folded edge to the plastic sheet (12). The invention also relates to a plastic sheet having an elastic cord at an edge thereof, a method for manufacture of said plastic sheet, and products or covers made from said plastic sheet such as oversleeves, overshoes, hair nets or bin liners etc.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS FOR MAKING TOY FIGURE CLOTHING
A method of manufacturing a garment includes forming a multilayer composition having one or more design elements. The multilayer composition is formed by applying a material that includes the one or more design elements to an elastomeric polymer base layer. The method further includes heating the multilayer composition, and after the multilayer composition has been heated, then aligning each design element with a respective three-dimensional design feature of a three-dimensional mold, and pressing the heated multilayer composition into the three-dimensional mold. The method further includes cooling the pressed heated multilayer composition to form a three-dimensional molded multilayer composition that includes one or more three-dimensional design elements; and forming a three-dimensional garment from the three-dimensional molded multi-layer composition.
GARMENT BAND ATTACHMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Various examples are provided related to attachment of bands such as, e.g., collar or neck bands, sleeve bands, wrist bands, waist bands and ankle bands, etc. to a garment opening. In one example, among others, a band can be attached to a garment by loading the band between rollers in a joining position, positioning an opening of a garment extending between control surface mandrels over the band, and attaching the band to the garment along the edge of the opening.
3-fabric layer insulation material and a method and an arrangement for producing the same
This invention describes a 3-layer insulation material comprising a first fabric layer, a second fabric layer and a third fluted intermediate fabric layer between the first and the second fabric layers, the fluted intermediate fabric layer being attached alternately to the first and the second fabric layer with longitudinal seams forming longitudinal channels for the insulation material having individual insulation material bundle inside each longitudinal channel. Also disclosed are a method and an arrangement for producing the same.
Remoldable impact-attenuation article
Aspects herein provide for a remoldable article configured to attenuate or reduce the results of an impact. The article comprises a plate that is remoldable in a temperature range of about 41 degrees Celsius to about 43.3 degrees Celsius.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING MECHANORECEPTION STIMULATION FABRIC
A method for manufacturing a mechanoreception fabric for incorporation into a garment or item of apparel sets a liquid substrate to a fabric weave to produce a plurality of protuberances in graticulate array and spaced apart across a surface of the fabric. The plurality of protuberances includes pyramidal nodes, each independent and separate from other nodes, not less than 1 mm apart at the base and not more than 5 mm apart at each apex and 1.5 mm in height. Because the nodes are separated and not in contact with each other, the fabric produced is still stretchable and wearable when incorporated into an item of apparel despite the nodes having a hardness of between Shore A 60 and 80.
EXTRACTING INFORMATION FROM IMAGES
An image processing component is trained to process 2D images of human body parts, in order to extract depth information about the human body parts captured therein. Image processing parameters are learned during the training from a training set of captured 3D training images, each 3D training image of a human body part and captured using 3D image capture equipment and comprising 2D image data and corresponding depth data, by: processing the 2D image data of each 3D training image according to the image processing parameters, so as to compute an image processing output for comparison with the corresponding depth data of that 3D image, and adapting the image processing parameters in order to match the image processing outputs to the corresponding depth data, thereby training the image processing component to extract depth information from 2D images of human body parts.
Customized, wearable 3D printed articles and methods of manufacturing same
The present invention relates to three dimensional (3D) printed garments and any wearable article, as well as to processes and methods of manufacturing the same. Image information obtained from a subject, for example, images and information related to a subject's body or body part(s) is used to generate a garment or wearable object with a customized fit. In particular, the present invention provides the collection of a subject's data (e.g., using image acquisition devices, methods and software), and use of the data to create a model (e.g., virtual model) that in turn is used to create a subject specific article of clothing or other wearable object.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING YOGA OUTER SOCKS WITH SILICONE BAND ATTACHED THERETO
Disclosed is a method of manufacturing yoga outer socks with a silicone band attached thereto by forming a temporary connection part using ultrasonic waves without a seam between an outer sock upper and a sole part, adhering hot melt to the temporary connection part via heat fusion, and then fusing a silicone band onto hot melt to prevent slipping of the heel. Accordingly, the yoga outer socks are manufactured by forming a temporary connection part with ultrasonic waves without a seam and then adhering hot melt to the temporary connection part via heat fusion to simplify manufacturing processes and to achieve excellent productivity.
SELECTIVE ATTACHMENT OF A YARN STRUCTURE
A method and system are disclosed. A method of printing onto a base having an upper surface spaced from a lower surface by a base thickness includes dispensing a yarn from a nozzle of a printing system and selectively attaching the yarn to a first attachment region. The step of dispensing the yarn includes dispensing a heat-moldable material and a melt-resistant material. The step of selectively attaching the yarn to the first attachment region includes moving the nozzle into the first attachment region. The step of moving the nozzle into the first attachment region reduces the base thickness by a prodding distance. The heat-moldable material bonds to the first attachment region.
