FIBER COMPOSITE LAMINATE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A FIBER COMPOSITE LAMINATE

A method for producing a fiber composite laminate, including the steps of applying pressure and/or heat to a first preform, which has one or more dry fiber layers and a thermoplastic elastomer, such that the thermoplastic portion of the thermoplastic elastomer completely impregnates the dry fiber layers of the first preform in at least one first region and only partially impregnates the dry fiber layers in at least one second region and, in a thermosetting polymer matrix, impregnating and curing the fiber layers of the second region of the first preform that are still dry and have not been impregnated with the thermoplastic portion of the thermoplastic elastomer.

BALL BAT WITH ONE-PIECE MULTI-WALL BARREL PORTION

A method of forming a barrel portion including obtaining a mandrel shaped to define at least an inner surface of a barrel portion of the bat, wrapping a first plurality of layers of fiber composite material about the mandrel, placing a removable material over a first portion of the first plurality of layers, and wrapping a second plurality of layers of fiber composite material over the removable material and the portion of the first plurality of layers not covered by the removable material for form an assembly. The method further includes separating the mandrel from the assembly, inserting an expandable member within the assembly, inserting the assembly into a barrel-forming mold, and molding the assembly in a single molding cycle, curing the first and second layers with the removable material to form the barrel portion of the bat, and removing the removable material and the member from the barrel portion.

Hockey-stick blade with reinforcing frame

A hockey-stick blade includes a reinforcing frame that provides improved strength, rigidity, and impact resistance. The reinforcing frame may be continuous along the top, bottom, and toe edges of the hockey-stick blade. The reinforcing frame optionally is a tubular structure made of fiber-reinforced epoxy resin. The interior of the reinforcing frame may include a core made of a resilient material, such as an expandable syntactic foam. Fiber reinforcement may also be included in the frame's construction.

Animal toy and method of manufacture

An animal toy is provided constructed from a latex or natural rubber material and formed into a ball. The ball is formed of an aggregate of particulate material that are bound together to form a substantially non-hollow construction. Pieces of latex are joined together to form balls, and the balls may be pressed together and constructed by hand or, alternatively, pressed into molds. By constructing the balls by hand, no two balls, even balls of similar size, are identical. Each ball has irregular outer surface that forms a variety of resilient protuberances that provide beneficial oral hygiene effects when chewed or rubbed against the teeth.

Methods of manufacturing articles utilizing foam particles

Methods for manufacturing articles of footwear are provided. In various aspects, the methods comprise utilizing additive manufacturing methods with foam particles. In some aspects, the additive manufacturing methods comprise increasing the temperature of a plurality of foam particles with actinic radiation under conditions effective to fuse a portion of the plurality of foam particles comprising one or more thermoplastic elastomers. Increasing the temperature of the foam particles can be carried out for one or multiple iterations. The disclosed methods can be used to manufacturer articles with sub-regions that exhibit differing degrees of fusion between the foam particles, thereby resulting in sub-regions with different properties such as density, resilience, and/or flexural modulus. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present disclosure.

RFID-ENABLED PHYSICALLY MANUFACTURED FIGURINES

A user can create and customize a digital character, for instance an avatar, a playable video game character, or a rendering of a character. The user can likewise define characteristics of the character, including a physical appearance of the character, statistics associated with the character, accessories of the character, and the like. The digital character can be manufactured, producing a physical figurine, which can include an RFID device. An NFT can be generated based on the digital character, for based on one or more characteristics of the character, the user, or any other factor. The NFT can be associated with the figurine, with the user, with a user account of the user, with an identifier associated with the RFID device, and with the digital character. The figurine can be used to unlock one or more features of a gaming system, a game, an entertainment platform, or any other system.

METHOD FOR WELDING PARTS MADE OF THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL

The invention first relates to a method for welding at least two parts comprising a thermoplastic material and having respective surfaces to be welded, comprising: inserting an insert between the surfaces to be welded of the two parts; generating heat via said insert; wherein the insert moves in relation to the parts to be welded in a welding direction. The invention also relates to an installation adapted for implementation of this method.

FOAMED ARTICLES AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME

Foamed articles including a foamed thermoplastic elastomeric material, methods of making the foamed articles, and methods for manufacturing articles of footwear, apparel, and athletic equipment incorporating such foamed articles are provided. In one aspect, a method for making a foamed article comprises placing an article comprising a foamable material and carbon dioxide in a vessel, maintaining the vessel at a first pressure and first temperature at which the carbon dioxide is a liquid and carbon dioxide is soluble in the foamable material, optionally exposing the infused article to a second temperature and second pressure, and subjecting the article to a third pressure and third temperature at which the infused carbon dioxide phase transitions to a gas, thereby expanding the foamable material into a foamed material and forming the foamed article.
