An in-mold lid closing apparatus comprises a frame, a first actuation assembly configured to linearly position a lid engagement member between a first and second linear position relative to an in-mold lid, and a second actuation assembly configured to rotatably position the lid engagement member between a first and second rotational position relative to the in-mold lid. The first actuation assembly comprises a first support moveably coupled to the frame and a first actuator coupled to a frame support of the frame and a first actuator drive element coupled to the first support. The second actuation assembly comprises a second support moveably coupled to the frame and disposed between the frame support and the first support and a second actuator coupled to the second support and a second actuator drive element coupled to the first support.

The invention relates to a method for producing a syringe with an integrated closure element, which method comprises the following method steps: a) making available an injection moulding tool which comprises a first, a second and a third tool portion, wherein the first tool portion has a mould cavity open at both sides and extending along an axial direction (X), and wherein the second tool portion has a first injection moulding core and the third tool portion has a second injection moulding core; b) closing the injection moulding tool such that the first tool portion contacts the second and third tool portion, and the first and second injection moulding core each enter the mould cavity of the first tool portion through an opening and finally contact each other, as a result of which these tool portions form a first structural cavity; c) injecting a first plastic material into the first structural cavity, as a result of which a hollow cylindrical syringe body is formed with an end region at its distal end, wherein the end region has an attachment element, provided with an inner thread, and a hollow cylindrical endpiece which is at least partially bounded by the attachment element; d) cooling the tool portions, as a result of which the syringe body cools and hardens; e) bringing the first tool portion into contact with a fourth tool portion provided with a mould cavity closed at one end, as a result of which a second structural cavity is formed at the distal end of the syringe body; f) injecting a second plastic material into the second structural cavity, as a result of which the closure element is integrally formed on the attachment element, wherein the first and the second plastic material do not enter into a cohesive connection.

A MOULDING APPARATUS AND METHOD

A moulding apparatus for forming an object with a mouldable material, the moulding apparatus having a forming region delimited by a lateral surface extending around a central zone. The moulding apparatus includes a plurality of sectors defining the lateral surface, each sector having a body delimited by a forming surface, at least a first pushing device for applying, on a first sector of said plurality, a first force directed towards the central zone in a first direction, at least a second pushing device for applying, on a second sector of said plurality, a second force directed towards the central zone in a second direction, and the second direction being arranged transversely to the first direction.

The present invention relates to a polyethylene resin suitable for preparing moulded articles, such as caps and closures. The invention provides in particular a polyethylene resin comprising at least two polyethylene fractions A and B, wherein said polyethylene resin has a melt index (MI2), of at least 3.0 g/10 min to at most 5.5 g/10 min as measured according to ISO 1133, condition D, at 190 C. and under a load of 2.16 kg, and a density of at least 0.955 g/cm.sup.3 to at most 0.965 g/cm.sup.3 as measured according to ISO 1183 at 23 C., and a molecular weight distribution M.sub.w/M.sub.n which is at most 7.0, as determined by gel permeation chromatography, with M.sub.w being the weight-average molecular weight and M.sub.n being the number-average molecular weight; and wherein said polyethylene fraction A has a high load melt index (HLMI), as measured according to ISO 1133:1997 condition G at 190 C. and under a load of 21.6 kg, of at least 10.5 and a melt index (MI2) of at least 0.5 g/10 min to at most 1.5 g/10 min as measured according to ISO 1133, condition D, at 190 C. and under a load of 2.16 kg. The invention further relates to a process for preparing said polyethylene resin, to a cap or closure comprising said polyethylene, and to a process for producing such a cap or closure.

A tool for the injection molding of plastic molded parts has two tool halves movable in relation to each other, one of which has a mold plate carrying at least one mold insert with a multiplicity of mold cavities, or a mold plate with a mold insert support platen, which carries at least one mold insert with a multiplicity of mold cavities. The mold cavities are designed to form molded parts in conjunction with complementary cavities present on the second of the tool halves. The mold insert of each mold cavity is assigned a slide, which is arranged movably over or in a cavity-side surface of the mold insert. The slide has at least one guide element in engagement with a counterpart guide element in the mold insert. A connection bolt extends from the slide in the direction of the mold plate or of the mold insert support platen and is guided in a guide groove of a rotary ring. A plurality of connection bolts of a plurality of slides are arranged circumferentially along the circumference of the rotary ring, distributed in a corresponding number of guide grooves, and the rotary ring is connected to a drive ring arranged on the mold plate or the mold insert support platen.
