A corrugated plastic box and a method for manufacturing a corrugated plastic box from a blank are provided. The method includes the steps of forming rounded edge seals on the perimeter edges of the blank, pre-sealing portions of the blank to form a plurality of areas in which major and minor flap slots and a glue tab are desired, ultrasonically scoring the blank to form a plurality of flap score lines, and cutting the blank through the plurality of pre-sealed flap slots and glue tab, leaving a sealed edge.

Adhesive bondlines in a cell-based structural array are thermally cured using tooling blocks inserted into the cells. The tooling blocks have embedded susceptors that are inductively heated by an alternating electromagnetic field generated by an electromagnet.

A composite sandwich panel assembly including an open area core, a high gloss surface sheet, and a structural skin. The structural skin is adhered to the second face of the open area core by a second adhesive layer. A process for forming the composite sandwich panel assembly includes positioning the high gloss surface sheet, joining the first face of the open area core to the high gloss surface sheet with a first adhesive layer intermediate therebetween, and joining the structural skin to the second face of the open area core with a second adhesive layer intermediate therebetween.

A method of making an article is provided, including placing at least a portion of a panel in an injection molding die and overmolding at least one molded structure on a surface of the panel in the injection molding die, wherein the molded structure includes a foam composition. An article is also provided including a material-to-material connection between the surface of a panel and a molded structure. The panel includes first and second layers and a core disposed there between, wherein the core has a plurality of walls providing a series of connected cells. Some of the cell walls have openings providing fluid communication between a series of at least 3 cells, and the opening in a cell wall has an area that is at least 50 percent of the area of a side of that cell wall. Articles such as panels, walls, or other parts with curved surfaces can be formed according to certain exemplary embodiments. The articles are useful for absorbing sound in a designed frequency range.
