A binding machine comprising: a feeding device for feeding a binding element (3) in the form of a wire or strap in a loop around one or more objects to be bound and subsequently retracting the binding element to draw it tightly around said objects; and a laser welding device for forming a welded joint between a section at the leading end of the binding element and an adjoining section at the trailing end of the part (3a) of the binding element fed in a loop around said objects to thereby secure this part of the binding element in a loop around the objects. The laser welding device is configured to apply an identification marking on an outer surface of the binding element by means of a laser beam (14) emitted from a laser welding head of the laser welding device.

BELT SPLICING MACHINE

A belt splicing machine includes two pressing plates respectively arranged at an upper side and a lower side and opposite to each other. The pressing plate located at the upper side and the pressing plate located at the lower side are respectively mounted on a support located at the upper side and a support seat located at the lower side. A heating sheet, a clamping plate, and an airbag are successively arranged between the pressing plate located at the upper side and the support seat from bottom to top. The clamping plate is fixedly connected to the pressing plate. A connecting plate is arranged between the airbag and the clamping plate. The clamping plate is fixedly connected to the support seat. A plurality of elongated grooves are formed on the lower side surface of the connecting plate along its length direction.

Apparatus for threading an intermediate transfer member of a printing system

A printing system is described that has an intermediate transfer member in the form of a seamed endless belt for transporting an ink image from an image forming station, at which an ink image is deposited on the intermediate transfer member, to an impression station, where the ink image is transferred onto a printing substrate. The belt has along its edges formations of a greater thickness than the belt. The formations are received in channels to guide the belt and maintain the belt under lateral tension. Two drive members are provided, each located within a respective one of the channels. The two drive members are connected for movement in synchronism with one another and each has a respective laterally projecting gripper shaped for form locking engagement with the formations on a leading end of a strip from which the intermediate transfer member is to be formed. Rotation of the drive members during installation of a new intermediate transfer member serves to thread the strip through the printing system by pulling the strip from its leading end.

Patch material for repairing a damaged portion of a pressing belt

A patch material for repairing a damaged portion of a pressing belt used on an agricultural round baler includes an operative outer polymeric layer having a first thickness, a mounting layer disposed parallel to the operative outer polymeric layer and having a second thickness being less than the first thickness, and at least one fabric layer disposed between the operative outer polymeric layer and the mounting layer. A plurality of linear outlines is defined on the operative outer polymeric layer at an operative top surface thereof. The linear outlines are configured to define a pattern with a plurality of predefined shapes. The plurality of the predefined shapes is configured to border a conical portion of a connecting opening defined on the operative top surface of the operative outer polymeric layer. The connecting opening extends the operative outer polymeric layer, the fabric layer, and the mounting layer.

Method and apparatus for extrusion of thermoplastic handrail

A method of and apparatus for extruding an article of uniform cross-section, the article including a thermoplastic material and at least one cable for inhibiting stretch of the article. The cable is supplied to a respective tube and is conveyed between upstream and downstream ends. The thermoplastic material may be supplied to the downstream end of the tube. The thermoplastic material is brought together with the cable to embed the cable within the thermoplastic material, thereby forming a composite extrudate. The tube is configured to at least hinder movement of loose windings of the cable from the downstream end towards the upstream end, which may prevent or at least reduce incidence of birdcaging.
