HYBRID COMPOSITE CYLINDER HEAD
An engine cylinder head includes an internal metal structure formed from a metal material, at least a portion of which includes a thermal coating and an external polymer composite structure formed from a polymer composite material, wherein the external polymer composite structure at least partially surrounds the internal metal structure.
METHODS OF JOINING COMPONENTS IN VEHICLE ASSEMBLIES
Methods of joining components to form vehicle assemblies, such as engine assemblies, are provided. The methods include arranging a first component having a first channel defined therein in a mold, arranging a second component having a second channel defined therein in the mold, and aligning the first and second channel to define a pin-receiving channel. At least one polymeric composite pin is inserted into the pin-receiving channel thereby joining the first and second components, wherein an adhesive is disposed adjacent to at least a portion of the polymeric composite pin.
System and method for producing an extruded protein product
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for producing an extruded protein product. In particular, a system for making an extruded protein product using a system that includes a die including channel having a transverse cross section that is a continuous loop along at least a portion of the length of the die is disclosed.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A BEARING ELEMENT OF A SHIFTING DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE TRANSMISSION, AND BEARING ELEMENT AND SHIFTING DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE TRANSMISSION
The invention relates to a method for the manufacturing of a bearing element of a shift device for a motor vehicle transmission. In a first process step a bearing element is provided, which comprises at least one projection and a coupling joint for the mechanical coupling of a selector lever in order to select a shift position of a motor vehicle transmission. The projection is overmolded by means of an assembly injection molding process with a bearing bushing material in order to form a bearing bushing to mount the bearing element in a moveable manner.
Wheel mounting system
A method and apparatus for installing a wheel arm assembly for an autonomous vehicle. The wheel arm assembly may be inserted into a base of the autonomous vehicle from the exterior of the base. A number of fasteners may be installed at the exterior of the base to attach the wheel arm assembly to the base of the autonomous vehicle.
Gripper and process for manufacturing a gripper
A gripper is described as including two lateral flanks that are directly or indirectly connected to each other at one end, providing a space between them including an actuator, the lateral boundaries of which space have at least one opening accessible from the outside. At least one louver runs across the opening and divides the opening such that the partial surfaces resulting from the louver limit or prevent accessibility to the opening. A method for manufacturing the gripper is also described.
CREATION OF INJECTION MOLDS VIA ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Methods of manufacturing an injection mold component are provided. The methods include printing a plurality of layers of a material into a near net shape mold of the injection mold component. The printing includes forming each layer in the plurality of layers upon another layer in the plurality of layers such that a volumetric part cavity is positioned between the plurality of layers. The volumetric part cavity corresponds to a coarse model of at least a portion of an injection moldable part. The method further includes removing material from the plurality of layers, whereby the volumetric part cavity expands to correspond to a precise model of the at least a portion of the injection moldable part and to form the injection mold component.
Polyamide molding compositions, molded parts obtained therefrom, and use thereof
Provided is a polyamide molding composition comprising a) at least one semi-aromatic, semi-crystalline polyamide, at least flat glass fiber as reinforcing filler, c) at least one aliphatic polyamide comprising recurring units complying with the formula NHR.sup.2NHCOR.sup.3CO, wherein R.sup.2 and R.sup.3, equal to or different from each other at each occurrence, are divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon groups, and d) at least one additive.
VEHICLE COMPARTMENT LOUVER CARRIER WITH INTEGRATED DUCTING
The present invention is directed to a carrier for an automobile with integrated active ducting. The carrier includes at least one aperture, and at least one louver rotatably mounted in the aperture. Also attached to the carrier is an actuator, and the actuator is connected to the louver. The actuator is operable for moving the louver between an open position and a closed position such that when the louver is in the open position, air flow passes through the aperture.
Droplet Deposition Apparatus and Method for Manufacturing the Same
A droplet deposition apparatus, such as an inkjet printhead, that includes an integrally-formed manifold component and one or more actuator components; these actuator components provide an first array of fluid chambers, each of which has a piezoelectric actuator element and a nozzle, with this piezoelectric actuator element being able to cause the release in a deposition direction of fluid droplets through the nozzle in response to electrical signals; the first array of fluid chambers extends in an array direction from a first longitudinal end to a second, opposite longitudinal end, this array direction being perpendicular to the deposition direction; in addition, the manifold component is elongate in the array direction and includes a first and second manifold chambers, with these manifold chambers extending side-by-side in the array direction and the first manifold chamber being fluidically connected to the second manifold chamber via each of the fluid chambers in the first array; the cross-sectional area of at least one of these manifold chambers is tapered with distance in the array direction, for example to improve purging of the chambers during start-up; the cross-sectional shape of the integrally-formed manifold component perpendicular to the array direction varies with distance in the array direction such that the centroid of the cross-section remains a substantially constant distance, in said deposition direction, from said array of fluid chambers over the length of the first array of fluid chambers, with the integrally-formed manifold component thus being essentially self-stiffening.
