A composition comprises a cyanoacrylate polymer and a protected amine. A method comprises: providing a shaped model comprising a cyanoacrylate polymer; preparing an investment having a cavity that corresponds to the shaped model; and heating the shaped model to sufficient temperature that the cyanoacrylate polymer depolymerizes and volatilizes. A hardenable material may be cast in the investment to provide a replica of the shaped model. A curable composition comprises: a cyanoacrylate monomer; a free-radical photoinitiator; and a protected amine, wherein the curable composition is free of compounds that initiate anionic polymerization of the cyanoacrylate monomer at ambient temperature. A method of curing the curable composition is also disclosed.

Provided is a roll mold that has a plurality of linear grooves arranged side by side on its outer peripheral surface and in which an optical step between adjacent linear grooves is sufficiently small. A roll mold comprising, on an outer peripheral surface thereof, n linear grooves extending in a roll axial direction or a direction inclined with respect to the roll axial direction and arranged side by side, where n is 800 or more, wherein the n linear grooves are arranged in a manner that a gradual decrease and a gradual increase in groove depth are repeated, and the number of points at which a transition from the decrease to the increase in groove depth occurs is m or less, where m is selected from 2 to 8.

Anatomic tissue-engineered osteochondral implant and method for fabrication thereof

A method for forming a prosthesis comprising a bone-like portion and a cartilage-like portion can comprise additively manufacturing a first positive mold in accordance with a portion of a first three-dimensional model of a portion of a bone. A first negative mold can be formed from the first positive mold. The bone-like portion can be created within the first negative mold. A second positive mold of the bone and a cartilage can be additively manufactured from a second three-dimensional model. A portion of the second three-dimensional model can correspond to a portion of the first three-dimensional model. A second negative mold can be formed from the second positive mold. The bone-like portion can be positioned in the second negative mold so that the second negative mold and the bone-like portion can define a cartilage space that can be filled with a material to form the cartilage-like portion of the prosthesis.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING FIBRE-REINFORCED PLASTIC PARTS, AND FIXING BY MEANS OF A DOUBLE-SIDED ADHESIVE LAYER
20230061235 · 2023-03-02 ·

In a method for producing fiber-reinforced plastic parts in a mold and an adhesive layer for carrying out the method, the adhesive layer adhesive force on the mold is greater than the adhesive layer adhesive force on the segment, so that, after a first segment is removed, the adhesive layer remains completely in the mold and after the temperature of the adhesive layer is increased through contact with a melted plastic matrix, the remaining adhesive force is sufficient to adhere at least a second segment. The adhesive layer, introduced into the mold relatively expensively, and removed from the mold and disposed of at further expense, is used repeatedly, not just for a single adhesion operation. The expense for procuring the adhesive layer, its introduction into the mold, removal and disposal remains but through its division over numerous production operations, the total expenditure proportion for each operation decreases dramatically.

Fabrication method of transparent 3D polydimethylsiloxane devices with polycaprolactone molds

A method of forming a model of a porous structure includes three dimensionally printing a mold of the porous structure using a polycaprolactone mold material, filling the mold with a polymer mixture, and heating the filled mold at a temperature above a melting temperature of the mold material to cure the polymer mixture, where the cured polymer mixture forms the model of the porous structure.
