Rigid structure UHMWPE UD and composite and the process of making
Fabrication of ballistic resistant fibrous composites having improved ballistic resistance properties. More particularly, ballistic resistant fibrous composites having enhanced flexural properties, which correlates to low composite backface signature. The composites are useful for the production of hard armor articles, including helmet armor.
Composite structure manufacturing method
A manufacturing apparatus employs three-dimensional (3D) printing technology and computer numerical controlled (CNC) positioning technology that creates composite structures of any size. The composite structures exhibit predefined characteristics suitable for different applications. The composite structures consist of plastic sheathing melded together to form bladders, as well as fabric impregnated with one or more resin-based compounds. The composite structures assume any of a myriad of predefined shapes. The composite structures exhibit fire-resistance, water-resistance, water containment, phase-change capability, ballistic protection, low weight, and may further be operable as a solar panel or be electrically conductive. The composite structures are optionally constructed with vias or pathways, through which pipes, electrical conduit, and other building materials may be threaded. The 3D printing and CNC technologies create the composite structures by printing them, already inpregnated and selectively cured. The composite structures are optionally inflated so as to take on an intended shape.
Surface protection method and surface decoration method for body to be coated
[Problem] To suppress changes in the recess depth and shape of a three-dimensional molded shape, and to form a uniform protective layer or ornamental layer along the surface of the molded shape. Also, to provide uniform application to the entire irregularly-formed surface and to suppress air pockets and partial defects of bonding. [Solution] In an adherend W having a three-dimensional molded portion in which a plurality of concavities and/or convexities are molded in a regular arrangement, a thermoplastic coating film larger than the area of an adhesion region is integrally adhered by a three dimensional decorative molding procedure in a predetermined adhesion region that includes the three-dimensional molded portion. The predetermined adhesion region includes all of the three-dimensional molded portion and covers more than half the perimeter of the adherend W in center cross-sectional view.
PERFLUOROELASTOMER MOLDED ARTICLE AND PROTECTIVE MEMBER
To provide perfluoroelastomer molded product and a protective member, excellent in plasma resistance and fitting property.
A perfluoroelastomer molded product containing no carbon black, and having a shore A hardness of 25 or more and 60 or less, and a protective member comprising the perfluoroelastomer molded product.
Armor mounting system and armor incorporating the same
A modular armor system configured to be readily attached and detached from a frame surrounding a window in a vehicle or other structure, such as a building. The modular armor system may be configured to provide any desired ballistics protection rating. In one embodiment, the modular armor system includes a ballistics-grade armor panel having an outer strike face and an inner surface opposite the outer strike face. The modular armor system also includes a fastener coupled to the ballistics-grade armor panel. The fastener is configured to detachably couple the ballistics-grade armor panel to the frame surrounding the window in the vehicle or other structure.
Helmet manufacturing method and structure of helmet
A helmet manufacturing method involves: producing a shell and a protector, the shell having two opposing cheek-protecting portions, the protector having a jaw-protecting portion and a neck-protecting portion connected to the jaw-protecting portion; putting the shell and the protector in a die such that bottom edges of the cheek-protecting portions of the shell connect to a top edge of the neck-protecting portion of the protector; introducing a foam material into the die, apply heat and pressure to the foam material such that the foam material expands and binds to an inner side of the shell and an inner side of the protector; and taking a helmet finished product out of the die. Therefore, both the jaw-protecting portion of the integrally-formed protector and the helmet finished product are reinforced.
Mouth Guard Having Low-Profile Printed Circuit Board For Sensing And Notification Of Impact Forces
A mouth guard senses impact forces and determines if the forces exceed an impact threshold. If so, the mouth guard notifies the user of the risk for injury by haptic feedback, vibratory feedback, and/or audible feedback. The mouth guard system may also remotely communicate the status of risk and the potential injury. The mouth guard uses a local memory device to store impact thresholds based on personal biometric information obtained from the user and compares the sensed forces relative to those threshold values. The mouth guard and its electrical components on the printed circuit board are custom manufactured for the user such that the mouth guard provides a comfortable and reliable fit, while ensuring exceptional performance.
BALLISTIC-RESISTANT ARTICLE BASED ON SHEETS WITH DISCONTINUOUS FILM SPLITS
A ballistic-resistant articles, and methods for their preparation, based on sheets of UHMWPE films with discontinuous film splits, which combine flexibility and good ballistic properties, making them suitable for both soft-ballistic and hard-ballistic applications.
Remoldable impact-attenuation article
Aspects herein provide for a remoldable article configured to attenuate or reduce the results of an impact. The article comprises a plate that is remoldable in a temperature range of about 41 degrees Celsius to about 43.3 degrees Celsius.
ARMOR PREPARATION METHOD AND SYSTEM
The present invention provides a system and method for preparing armor made of para-aramid fibers, including a plurality of rollers feeding an input source of the para-aramid fibers, the fibers being at a first temperature. The system and method include a heating mechanism encapsulating at least a portion of the plurality of rollers, the heating mechanism heating the para-aramid fibers fed by the rollers from the first temperature to a second temperature. The method and system include a press, including a plurality of plates, whereupon the para-aramid fibers reaching the second temperature, the para-aramid fibers are fed into and compressed between the plurality of plates by the press, and heated to a third temperature. The method and system include a cooling section supporting the plurality of plates and the para-aramid fibers compressed therein while the para-aramid fibers cool from the third temperature to a fourth temperature.
